A hog I shot last week in Texas was limping bad from a gun shot wound. It was broke about an inch above the knee but was still using it. I could feel it move and when I cut it open it just fell apart and had a little puss in it. But what was even more shocking she was shot in the head also. I boiled the skull and was cutting the meat off when I noticed it. Looks to be a 30 caliber that angled into the snout but didn't come out. Took an arrow from a long bow to put her down. :bigsmyl:

Those pigs sure are tough critters!
I've seen bullets and broadheads and all kinds of injuries on ones that me and my friends have killed.

That's amazing! Goes to show how tough wild animals can really be.
WOW! Good shooting, TSunstone!
No doubt they are tough. We would be lucky to not get a fatal infection from a paper cut, lol.
Goes to show what a sharp properly placed broadhead will do.

I ran a metal detector over the head and nothing. ??? Don't see a hole where it came out.
Good shooting you did a great deed putting it outta its misery!
Yep, hogs are one of the toughest critters I've hunted.
Woah. That's pretty hard core. Animals are quite resilient. I remember years and years ago reading about a buck that was shot and killed. When it was skinned it had like 3 broadheads and bullets and all kinds if stuff in it.
Good for you!
Good job.
With no bullet in the snout I think with the angle it went out the nose.
Excellent...fine harvest.
Hogs are some very tough critters... My oldest son and I have actually caught two different hogs that were three legged. That will throw a twist into hog tying a hog :)
I shot a javelina with a busted front tooth and bullet fragments in it's gum line.
Probably talked with a lisp. Hope the other javies didn't poke too much fun when he went "thnort".
Good one, Beastmaster!!! Wasn't there a Tim Conway/Carol Burnett skit about that???
Found the entrance hole and it's not a 30 cal, that was the exit hole. The hole was covered over and healed. How they can survive something like this I'll never know.

Hmmm what cal ... Is it???
I had a friend years ago when i lived in MS. that shot a big eight pointer from his tree stand with a bow. The deer was facing directly toward him. We followed a good blood trail that quickly got to no more than a few drops here and there and we were never able to find the deer. Later that same year he was hunting from the same stand durring gun season and shot a big eight pointer. When he dressed the deer out,,he found his complete arrow long ways inside the deer.He says he saw no indication that anything was wrong with the deer when it walked out before he killed it. Another time i shot a young buck during gun season that was running with several other deer. when i went to drag it out i saw that it was missing a front leg.It was completly gone from the shoulder down and had happened more than likey the year before because it was healed up, even hair growing back over where it had been cut off. It looked to be running normal and was keeping up with the other deer it was running with. Nature has ammazing ways for sure.
