Title: Anyone familiar with "Crooked Stic" bows?
Post by: Tradtical Commando on February 28, 2014, 08:10:00 PM
I picked one up at Tannehill this past weekend and am having a tough time finding anything out about them. It looks good and is a shooter.

Who makes them?

How are they cut to center?

Recommended brace height?

Any info on them at all would be appreciated. Thanks.

Made by Mike Miller of Princeton In. Never shot one but Mike has an excellent reputation. He is a member here you can probably message him. Might look over on the bowyers bench.

My Crooked Stic longbow.
Stable, quiet&fast. Fairly-priced, as well. (//%5Burl=http://imgur.com/J4iIpUl%5D%20%5Bimg%5Dhttp://i.imgur.com/J4iIpUl.jpg) [/IMG]

Mike attends our KTBA (Kentucky Traditional Bowhunters) shoots in Mercer County KY. I shot one of his bows at our last shoot and liked it.  He will probably be at the "Tradfest" the first weekend of April.

Unfortunately I don't own or have never even shot a Crooked Stick bow.  I do know Mike is a stand up guy and bet he builds a great bow.  I have been in several bow swaps and always hoped to be drawn by Mike but, no such luck.

I have had Mike make two 3pc. take downs for me. Both 62". Best brace for me on both bows was right at seven and a half. Excellent  performance on both and Mike is a great guy to do business with.

Jess I was lucky enough to do a one on one swap with Mike. He gave me the choice tween his models and I chose his one piece shorty longbow. Osage with an ipe I beam, red accents and a aboo core. Very nice bow. Shoots hard and is dead in hand. Ill try to post a pic later.

I've never heard anything but good about Mike or his bows. Everyone I know that has one really likes it.

God bless, Steve
