Title: Carbon Express
Post by: J-dog on September 17, 2007, 08:28:00 PM
Just thinking about going to carbon express maximas with the FOC? Always shot easton stuff from aluminums to axis, mostly aluminum though.

Gonna get a tip, hopefully mid Oct  :knothead:   figured some of yall had some experience with them.

Unsure what head weight I will use making up some new arrows from scratch, probably STOS around 160s,70s 80s?

Thanks for the help yall

If you want a lighter shaft the Maxima is hard to beat. If you want more weight the Heritage is a super shaft. If you shoot about 55 lbs, and want the shaft to be less than 30", the 150s are probably the best shaft. If you want a longer shaft, or a heavy point weight, the 250 might be better.

Like weight in a shaft, and my arrows will be less than 30". So I might go with the 150s.

Thanks

found that the 150's are WAY better for my 55#@26.5" draw. Seems they can be cut at 28-29 and will fly great from my rig with just about any amount of weight up front (100 grains on up to 220 grains). I just couldn't get 28.5" 250s to fly quite right no matter how much weight I added.
