Title: Bear Kodiak Hunter question (s)
Post by: graybarkhunter on February 23, 2014, 06:08:00 PM
I recently got access to a left handed Kodiak Hunter and was wondering what brace height is needed and what year it was made??  Serial Number  Kt 79438 AMO 60" 40x#... It also has the number 43 written right above where the shelf meets the riser....any ideas ?
This is an experiment , as I am left eye dominant and have been shooting a right handed bow since I started.. Thanks

Not sure on the year, but the 43 means actual poundage at 28". Great bows!

On any recurve I start at 1/8th of the AMO and adjust up ot down 1/2" or so until I get good flight and quiet.  7-1/2" for the K.Hunter.  Mine is currently at 8".

8" seems like the golden brace height for the two I have.  One had a shorter brace height and I didn't like shooting it.  On a whim I shortened the string and viola- really nice results.  I suspect between 7 3/4" and 8" you will find what you want.
