Title: Which Great Northern for Kanati
Post by: basket-rack'89 on February 21, 2014, 12:17:00 AM
I'm a little less than a month out from having my new Kanati, my first custom bow, and decided I better order a quiver for it.  After a lot of review reading and a few recommendations, I've decided on a Great Northern adjustable strap on quiver.  My question to those of you that have them is would you recommend the standard Great Northern, the Kickback, or the Kickback Extreme?

Is there any difference in stability, noise or vibration between the 3 quivers?

I don't think it will make much difference, but the bow will be 60" long and 67#@28.

Any input is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

I have no experience with "their" Kickback or Kickback Extreme.. But I modified my GN strap-on to be a kickback several years ago per Kelly Peterson's instructions on his website.
It made a great quiver (pun intended) even better. Better arrow clearance, stability, and bow balance
I would go with the kickback (or extreme) for sure.

I would get the Kick Back quiver, if you order one, from the Nocking Point a sponsor, I'd get the 1/2" Deeper Hood, much better broadhead protection. I find the standard depth hood a bit too small for a variety of broadheads.

Nocking Point is your best place to order it...

If you search on the Product Reviews Lamey shows pictures of a Kickback, on a Kanati I believe.

Good choice for a quiver, and if you get it right the first time, you shouldn't ever need a different one.

Another advantage is the GN has great feather spacing, for even 5 1/2" Feathers.. No problems.

Just found his post, unfortunately the pictures are down...  Go the  GN website, and you'll see it mounted on the bow there..

Thanks for the input so far Doug and Gator. A lot of the photos I've seen of the kickback extreme make it look a little "extreme" for my liking.  Does anyone have any photos of a kickback or kickback extreme mounted on a longbow?

Maybe Matt Lamey still has his pics of his Kanati with this quiver on?
