Title: Even though I know better
Post by: Cyclic-Rivers on February 18, 2014, 08:03:00 PM
Why do I still shoot more than one arrow at the same spot?????    :readit:

Good shooting Charlie!!!!! Yup, just picked up a new to me Tall Tines last weekend. After three in a row in the basement at twelve yards I thought I'd better stop, left the last two in the quiver. Me thinks them bucks at Kenny's are going to be in trouble this coming November.

Nice job! I've shot a lot of arrows in my life, but I've never Robinhooded an arrow. I would gladly shatter ever shaft I have, if I could do that!

With the modern stuff, I never shoot at the same spot under 20 yards.  I've robin-hooded too many expensive arrows. I'm trying to go traditional, so it's very inspirational to see you guys doing it the old-fashioned way. I hope to get there some day.  I'm just getting frustrated trying to straighten the wooden shafts I got today, my first batch ever (more to learn).  I was just impressed that 6 of the 12 were good to go right out of the package, and the sealer is drying on them now.

Good shooting!

I deliberately put my arrows all over the place to prevent that.     ;)

The novelty wears off quickly doesn't it?  The one that really ticks me off is doing it without thinking shooting broadheads and cut the fletching off your hunting shafts right before the opener....
#^*&@$#!!@%^*)(&##!!@@

shoot one.... pull one... or pick a different spot. After you get this shooting stuff down, it gets expensive blowing up perfectly good arrows.

This was a dumb accident, I don't like breaking arrows like this. The first arrow hit abut 2 inches to the right of the spot I was trying to hit.  I thought I could get the second arrow to hit the spot.

at least I was consistent lol.

Kurt, you can turn wood arrows into toothpicks just as easy.

Careful Michael, you may only have one good arrow next fall for Missouri.  Good Shooting!

I had my first Robin Hood today after two months of archery.  It was actually my first day of shooting left handed. Second set of six arrows at 12 yards, just trying to get a feel for it. Dumb luck (or unluck..) I think I'm going to stick with LH after that!

Just did it today at 10 yards in the basement. The first arrow hit the spot so I aimed right at it and you know the rest. Should be smarter.

Nice shooting, never did it with my wheel bows I used to shoot, but got lucky and did it twice in the last 4 years 1 recurve 1 longbow. Always can use extra inserts! lol

Good consistent shooting Charlie. These occurrences do get expensive fast.

I was going to make a comment about the make-up on your arrows but I'm going to withhold    :p

After this I started putting up multiple targets at several different ranges and picking a fresh empty spot to aim at each shot. There's a few denocked woodies in that batch...

Obviously I'm not very good at heeding the advice of others! Without shooting multiple arrows I can't see how well I'm grouping    :knothead:

Great Shooting Folks!! Peat Moss Bag....... Hmmmm
Title: Re: Even though I know better
Post by: JB74nola on February 26, 2014, 10:25:00 AM
Yes I like the peat moss. It catches arrows well, they pull out easy, you can wrap them in tape and they last longer, they only cost $10, and when they are at the end of their life span you just bust em up and rake it in! Put several out in the yard and you have a multi-range 3D target fest!
