Title: Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane Arrow Dipping
Post by: Huntswithbows on February 16, 2014, 01:34:00 PM
The last batch of woodies I made were dipped in Minwax Helmsman urethane.  Love the finish but forgot how much I thinned the Helmsman prior to dipping. What has worked best for you?

i have used helsmans urathane before but not for dipping. i think 2 parts urathane to one part thinner would be enough.

Never used it, but I just read the other day that 40% worked good.

25-30% thinner....2:1 or 3:1 how ever you want to count it. Good finish, all I used till I got Profin.
