Title: FOC for woods
Post by: gordydog on February 16, 2014, 08:29:00 AM
Using some 100 gr Woody Weights I made up some 19.6% FOC wood arrows that flew really well from my HH bow.  I was thinking this would be too high,  but apparently it wasn't.   Anyone else experiment with wood FOC,  maybe find some upper limits?

What range do you find your woods FOC at?

I've played around with higher FOC's in wood arrows and really like the results.  You can get 20+%, but total arrow weight seems to be the limiting factor.  I did best with Sitka Spruce shafts due to their light weight.  Most of the time now I just go with 200+ grain broadheads.
