Title: Cresting Time
Post by: neuse on February 16, 2014, 07:24:00 AM
I need to start cresting some new arrows.
I have always used craft paint in the past, but after looking at Arrows of 2014 I would like to know what others are using.
There are some gorgeous arrows on that thread and I would like to improve the looks of my cresting.

Thank You for your response

I use Testors enamel, acrylic or regular. Havent found anything better.

Any paint needs to be the right consistency and most will need a little thinning.

A good quality brush makes a big difference, especially on the fine lines.

I use Krylon Short Cuts enamel for most of my cresting. Buy my brushes at craft and art stores, long slender (script liner) works best for most cresting.

If you want a bright color to POP, put down a white base first.

Like Tree Killer, I like the Short Cuts enamels.  My favorite brushes are dagger stripers.
