Title: Day One fleece weight?
Post by: Mojostick on February 15, 2014, 10:00:00 AM
I have the ASAT wool from Day One Camo and love it. However, if it's over 50 degree's, you'll sweat your keister off on the walk out to the stand.

I deer hunt in Michigan, so my hunts are mostly sitting for 2-4 hours, with the exception of the walk out.

The issue often is, it can be 60-65 on the afternoon walk out and 45 by the end of the sit. So you can go from sweating on the walk out to chilled at dusk. And I know all about layering, so I don't need any advice there.

My question is, what's the weight like on the standard Day One ASAT fleece? The light fleece is very light. How is the standard Day One ASAT fleece in say 50-60 degree weather? Is it still too warm? Thanks in advance.

I have the day one fleece pullover in asat, it's great for layering and it is pretty warm! With some Light weight merino johns it would be ideal

How is it on warm days with a very light base layer? I don't want to sweat my tail off.

I would strap it on my pack for the walk in then throw it on after, it's pretty thick, on warm days I usually just wear my core4 merino 1/4 zip with a cotton tshirt
