Are they worth the price? Would appreciate info from anyone that owns any of their boots. Thank you.
A lot of guys really like their Russells. The only pair I've had were the same turkey boots your looking at. I found them to be pure misery for my feet, they killed my heals. I wanted them to work out and gave them a serious chance because of the price of them. I was determined if I just stuck with them things would improve, NO. I'm not someone that has much problem with boots being comfortable either. This is just my experience with this specific boot for what it's worth.
I bought RLAs boots. Absolutley love them. Lightweight and comfortable. I did send them back to have some leather trimmed off inside. But came back reconditioned and everything for $30.
I'm glad to hear they worked out for you Keith good deal. No doubt they're built to last a really long time. They just weren't at all comfortable on my feet.
Like everything else, what works great for some might not work for the next guy.

Keep in mind that these are moccasins. There's usually no arch support or cushioning. It's like walking barefoot with a little leather wrapped around your foot for protection.
I have a couple pair of boots. They conform to the foot very nicely. They work fine for me as long as I incorporate a little padding in the foot bed. If not, the bottoms of my feet tend to get a sore in them. I think a big part of the problem is I'm getting old and there just isn't as much fat/padding in my feet as there used to be. Thus, I have to add some to the boot.
Something to be aware of. Probably not a problem if you're a young fella.
I just had a surprise when I got home. Another pair of Russells Chukkas waiting for me. A gift from my bro. Krimparoos. Like a custom bow. 6 month wait.....or thereabouts.
I find my Russells to be comfortable in the woods. Not so much on blacktop or concrete. But hunting with them very comfortable.
Did you have your boots custom made RLA or get them already made but in your size? My custom made Russell's are perfect in every way since I was measured for them.
Killinstuff, we sent foot tracings & measurements. I can't remember if they had some in stock or if they made them up, it's been several years ago.
I don't want this to come across like I'm knocking these boots because that's not my intention at all.
Skinnybill ask about the turkey hunters and I gave him my experiance with them. I wouldn't want someone to put down that kind of money expecting them to come out of the box and feel like Nikes or Danners, because they don't. I guess I'm just used to plan ol package store boots with some arch support.
Russell has a strong fallowing, just not my cup of tea. I can't spend that kind of money on boots any more anyway.
