Guys. What's a good trail cam to get. Not to pricey because the magets will take them thanks
Covert gets my vote
Been happy with my moltrie, spy point makes a good one too.
I have a Bushnell trophy cam that I have been very happy with, takes great quality pics and easy to set up.
I second covert bought it last yr still has original batteries in it and takes superb pics plus great customer service you always get to speak to someone when or if you calll
I have a couple of Spy Points and they seem to work well.
I use the Spy Points as well and haven't had any issue with mine.

I have had great luck with Primos.
I have had a lot of problems with Primos. I have bought two, but had about six, as they have had to be replaced multiple times. Customer service has been great, but I have missed a lot of opportunities to have them out during prime scout time, waiting for replacements to arrive.
I have a couple moultries I have been happy with. I got a model that was a year or two old but still new in the box off the big auction site. Think I ended up paying 45 bucks apiece. Me and a couple buddies bought all they had. Several of my buddies have wild game innovations cameras and are happy with them for a cheaper camera.
Good luck on this one.
Each brand has been good or bad. Some guys here have had good luck with moultries, I have not. Bought several of their mid level cams, and returned them all multiple times until I just gave up and switched brands. Bad batch?
I now use bushnell 8.0 trophy cams. Easy to use, tough (rain and wicked cold temps still going), and great battery life. One set of regular batteries will last summer through winter with thousands of pics taken.
Downside is you can't view the pics on all cameras requiring a computer that accepts SD cards.
I have three Moultries and love them. Good pic's, excellent battery life. No complaints at all.
Guys check out the new one by Browning. Spec. Ops. I bought one before last season. I liked it so much I bought two more. It's blackflash, super fast trigger speed, excellent case etc. I also have some of the Covert black flash cameras but I like the browning better. I found them on sale for $129 dollars recently and they normally retail for around $200. They have an 8 pic rapid fire deal that is excellent. We cant use bait or attractants in Illinois so a camera with a super fast trigger speed is preferred. This camera fits the bill for me.
scoutguard sg550 have worked great for me. The only issue is that a broke two battery doors this year. One I drooped on hard ground and one in very cold weather when I bumped it on on a tree hard taking it down. That is the week point in the camera when you have a load of batteries in it. I replaced one because I lost a part and the other I glued. Other than that they have been great and I ran them Aug through January on 4-AA batteries. I used to use 8 but see no reason with the very long battery life I get.
Dan, I lived and hunted in N.J. for 25 years and can't imagine one lasting a week before it was stolen. I wish you a lot of luck.
Thanks greg d. I'm sure you know ! The game wardens mite tell me it illegal to take pics in the woods like they told me I can't pic up sheds. Or stump shoot off topic but jersey sucks!
I've had my fair share of different cams. Right now I have 4 Bushnell camo 5mp cheapies from Wal Mart. Cost $99 and works like a charm. Great little SMAll camera, takes AA batteries that last along time, takes great pics with quick response time. They don't seem to stay in stock long when the do have them. A tan version seems to always be in stock though. They have a 1/4 -20 threaded insert in the bottom. I make a $2 adapter and I can screw in a tree and swivel twist to any position and eliminate using the strap. A few dead sticks leaning up the tree and it becomes mostly invisible. I think most folks see the strap around the tree way before the see the camera. The strap is visible 360 degrees around a tree. I get lots of pics folks walklng by my cameras and never know their pic was taken. Even if they do I'm not out a small fortune if they do.
I've tried several different brands but have had the best luck (long term) with the WildGame Innovations.
Yep Covert ,mine takes great shots ,cheap and has great battery life.
