Lord knows I have all the bows I ever need, all Schafer Silvertips, but I just cannot stop looking at classifieds on here and some of the sponsers. :banghead: :banghead: Now Tommy at RMS has a bow that I have owned several of but either sold or traded off that I just could not stop myself from buying. A Harrison Siberian Wolf,60", 59#@28",t/d, looks like macassar ebony in the riser. One of these days I will find a cure for my affliction :goldtooth: :goldtooth:

You are not alone,I have plenty of bows but just can't help to keep looking in the classifieds myself!
I have a beautiful wife that I love very much. That doesn't keep me from a strenuous eyeball exercise regimen.
let's go Danny,
when it is good for health, it is allowed....
Luc
Hey.......it's fun!
I check it out every day. Its like a sickness , But ohhhhhhhhhhh so good.
God bless, Steve
one of you say yes to the two I have listed please! I need to replace them with lower #....
WHC & Roberston...I'm guessing you probably need both! ;)
Because you are hoping I will someday sell the only set of Recurve limbs made for a Cari-bow Silver Fox??? LOL
Danny, there's no cure. There's a 56" Kwyk Styk on there right now that I've already owned not once but twice! Caught myself yesterday digging through the bow pile to see what I had to throw out there for a trade.
:knothead: :knothead: :knothead:
It's the first thing I look at when I open up Tradgang, really I try to be a one bow person, I think you become much more accurate that way, but I have a problem staying with one bow, right now my Dakota is THE ONE, don't know what it will be next season, I need help.
For me it often starts off innocently enough when, like now, I have a bow for sale there, which means I need to kind of check up on it, you know, several times a day. Because nobody would just send me a private message or anything if I don't check on it. Then as long as I'm there, I might as well see what's selling. Then...well, you know the rest of the story, Danny. :banghead:
Refuse the notion of staying away from the classifieds, embrace your affliction and continue being a man happy hunting.
I know why I do it.
Last summer, at Baltimore, Mr. Asbell asked me, "Why so many bows?"
I don't remember my response, probably something like, "They are all different."
Yes, they are all different. Just like my guns, I buy them to try them out, see how the actions differ, see how to load them best, see which ones I like the best.
I see the specialness of each one. I seldom part with one. I find one I like and get another for backup.
I work too much and life takes up the rest of the time. I wish I could shoot more. I wish I could hunt more. I am frustrated and feel powerless. I buy a bow because I can, and I am visualizing being in the woods, feeling a clean release, and a pinwheeling fletch hitting the mark.
Frustration feeds the economy here.
Thanks, Fred, for the brain fodder.
Killdeer :banghead:
I just came from the classifieds, and I don't need any more bows either. I understand... :saywhat:
My routine here is 1st PowWow for interesting threads;cool hunt stories, hunt plans, and occasionally a technical conversation that increases my archery insight. I also like to read opinions on different recurves.
Then I go to the Trad Bow classifieds to look at beautiful bows owned by other people.
You just have it Bad, Danny
Let me know when you find the cure - I check them at least twice a day.
I am glad I am a lefty so there are much less temptations for me and I can buy directly from the bowyers, someone has to help this bad economy.
Just know that you are not alone. That's all I'm gonna say.
Danny, I wish I could tell you the cure..!! Keeps me in the hot water with the wife..!!!
Jr.
I still haven't paid the fee to view them and I know it has saved me hundreds of dollars at minimum. Didn't stop me from buying more bows though, just slowed me down quite a bit thankfully.
I could do worse things......

I do not want to be cured, I enjoy it. There are worse things, horses, racing, womanizing, alcohol, drugs, gambling etc.
The cure for the classifieds is to pick one primary bow to hunt with and one back up and then go practice shooting and GO HUNT. I finally cured myself of wanting to buy/trade by doing exactly that. I've come to believe 100% that most of us, myself formerly included, get addicted to going through lots of bows because we have so little time to actually go out and hunt due to family and job commitments. It's much easier and less time consuming to sit in front of a computer screen and buy/sell bows and 'wish' to be out hunting than actually going out and doing it. I've come to learn and believe that staying devoted to only a handful of bows I know and shoot well will lead me to be a better shot and a better hunter, and my bank account will thank me. I'm now busy selling off all the chaff. What you see in my sig is 'it' for a good while.
LOL, in this order. PowWow, tradbows, knives, leather, sponsor classifieds, then back to PowWow just in case something new has been posted. I do this several times a day. Sometimes all day, LOL.
better pass on that bow...brace height looks a bit low.
I agree on bring a lot better shot with one bow as nine world said . I have 2 widow's that are almost identical one is a back up. I am shooting better now than I have in a long time. But I guess it's boredom cause I also cruise the classifieds looking for "that" bow. Crap I already have it, why am I looking ?? I have no idea. Over the years I've spent way too much money buying bows only to sell them later. I know sticking to one bow would and has really helped my shooting but dang .... There are so many temptations. I'm glad I stay broke or I would probably still be buying and selling bows and my shooting suffering and the wife wouldn't be happy at all
I look, but either I can't afford it, or I just haven't found it. Just looking for a nice longbow, 50@26, not reflex/deflex, just a nice D-profile longbow. I love seeing the different styles and woods on the bows, kinda like watching the ladies in their new spring outfits, or the ladies at the beach.
Killdear, nicely said......!!! I agree
Keep looking Danny... exercise your freedoms! (LOL)
Danny I understand completely about classifieds. I'm like a fish. look a lot, bite occasionally and throw the hook a lot.
I figure it don't hurt to look. But then like I did yesterday you find one you cannot turn down and end up buying it. :dunno:
ok im officially banning my self from the classifieds, i have come very close to buying a couple bows the past few weeks and do not need another bow, nor do i have the money to be buying them !!!!! :knothead:
