Hello all.
Anyone know anything about this bow?
Goo, bad or other?
Thanks.
Steve.
Solid no-frills work horse, probably as common on the big auction site as the bear grizzly I see quite a few of them at the blanket swaps in the 75-125 dollar price range depending on specs/condition etc. I have seen a few with maple sight windows or limb tip over-lays but not all. Usually a good bow for the money.
Pearson bows are solid performers for sure
jrbows' assessment is right on, in my opinion. I have owned a couple of Cougars (and still have one of them). Both were/are good shooting bows.
I still have one that my stepdad gave to me long ago. It is the 64" model and it still gets used from time to time. It shoots good.
i have been looking for one in good condition. Shot my first trad deer with a Cougar. A very solid performing bow.
45lb Cougar was my first real hunting bow. Wish I'd have kept it for sentimental reasons...
I have one in the classifieds for sale if anyone is interested.
The Cougar was my first hunting bow in 1970. I killed the first live deer I ever saw with that bow (5-point buck at 15 yards) on opening afternoon of the 1970 season in Brown County Indiana. I was 16 and lived in country with zero deer. That bow was a RH. I've been shooting lefty since 1996.
I think Mom paid $20 for the bow which came with 3 cedar arrows and 3 Deadhead broadheads. I didn't use the deadheads on the deer hunt. I used Bear Razorheads.
Very fond memories of the Pearson Cougar!
