Title: My first New Bow
Post by: runningbird on February 05, 2014, 06:48:00 PM
Well after buying three used bows I decided to bite the bullet and buy my first new bow.  Out of the three I had my Liberty edge seemed to fit me the best.  So I called Allen Boyce and talked with him about setting me up.  Three months after first talking with him I finally pulled the trigger and ordered.  Last Friday when I got home from out of town my Daughter told me it had come.  The only thing is I had to work the next three days and would not be able to shoot till Tuesday.

Tuesday morning found me getting it set up.  Took a guess at noc and set the brace at Allen's specs and headed out.  After 5 shots thru paper I was shooting bullet holes and figured I would step back and take a shot.  Thought about twenty yard but went back to 25 and let one fly.  Arrow flight looked near perfect and the result was great.  Now to shoot a bare shaft, I'm always a bit uncomfortable with the bare shaft because one of my anchor points is a feather on the nose tip. Any way took a shoot and this is what I ended up with on my first two shots out of a new bow.

needles to say I'm pretty pleased.  Shooting the rest of the day and today has been amazing.

The riser and overlays are bocote, bamboo in the core with myrtle wood veneers. The orange-ish accent stripes under the overlays is yew wood.

That's beautiful!  I received my Edge from Allen last January; this will be hard to believe but the bocote will get even prettier with time!  The day the mail man brings something from Allen is a good day...
