Title: wool repairs?
Post by: TURKEYFOOTGIRL on January 26, 2014, 12:42:00 AM
A buddy of mine has a pair of sleeping indian pants in need of repair. Since sleeping Indian is out of business who else repairs wool products like this and would have similar material to patch with?

Any local seamstress, sew type places around you??  I take most of my sewing needs to a local place that does great work.  They have done several special projects for me.  I've also been known to take out he needle and thread myself.  I get the job done but it sure doesn't look professional

I think it needs a patch added  He's on the road a lot and would prefer to send it to someone who deals with wool.

Abouit six months ago my Swandrii needed a patch. I contacted Johnson Woolen Mills (online) and ordered a small swatch of wool from them. I chose the color gray as it was a neutral color that came close to matching my shirt. I then took the swatch and Swandrii shirt to a local seamstress who cut a small patch and stitched it on to mend the rip. I am very satisfied with how it turned out.
Hope this helps.

You might want to try "felting" a patch on.
