Hi.
I am looking to purchase (one more bow) I think it is going to be a dalaa das dx5. my question is whats the diffence. I see some now come ilf ready. I want a light bow to work on my form with. around 35-40 pounds, draw length 27". still haven't decided on recurve or longbow limbs. So what the scoop on the risers.
Not sure what you're asking but the Dalaa is offered in three different lengths: 15, 17, 21 inch long. I haven't personally handled a DX 5 but it appears to have a flatter more longbow style grip compared to the recurve style on the others.
sorry, I should have put camas,,,,, between. das, dalaa. are they the same or is there something diff. I probably call 3 rivers today, just wanted some input here.
I have had the DX 5 which is the 15" riser and the 17" riser. I liked them both. I am using the 17" riser now. The 15" DX 5 is a sleek version. Nice grip. The das connection can be made to work with ILF limbs. I have a set of 45# lost camo medium recurve limbs I would sell cheap if you are interested. I use the longs. They are 3 Rivers carbon foam recurve mediums that make a 56" bow on the DX5 riser. 45# max.
I've owned all of the DAS Daala's the DX5 is the smallest, lightest and shortest of the 3. 3 Rivers bought the DX5 rights from Sky archery as it was formally made by them with ILF plates. (had one of those too.)
The fit of a particular riser is such a personal thing, it either fits you well or it doesn't. Until you get to try it out its hard for others to advise you. As much as I wanted the Daala's to work for me the feel didn't fit me. The TT Titan is what I discovered through trial and error worked for me. Others have found it to be differently for them.
Thanks
