So my wife agreed to let me put up my trophies in the new house. (HOORAY!) but I have a problem my youngest son hit the tail of my mounted Tom and knocked it off. Any body got any suggestions on what I can use to re attach it? I just don't know if one epoxy works better than another on a mount.

As you can see the tail came off in one piece so it shouldn't be a problem to glue back on (I think) I just want to use the right stuff. Any suggestions?
PM Guru(Curt) and ask him, He does taxidermy if I recall and he could help you out.
I would take it back to the taxidermist. He could probably fix it up quickly.

I use bondo to attach tails onto the mount.
Epoxy will work, as will a yellow carpenter's glue like Titebond II ("PVA").
Any of the CA (Kwik, Crazy, Loctite, etc) glues would work as well - though you need a slower setting one to get your tail positioned and your fingers away.
Epoxy, PVA & CA also have the advantage that the little carpet beetles and moths won't find it tasty. Hide glues and casein based glues - yum.

Yeah there was a little bit of a mourning period after I realized what happend. Fortunately my son had gone to bed and missed the tears haha. My wife kinda have me the "oh it broke? Shame..." Kinda thing lol. But I don't think she knows how much that rascal means to me. It's the only bird I've killed, and I hunted for six years before I tagged him with a bow. Lol but anyways thanks again guys for the help, I'll try to post some pics when I get it fixed.
That's why I put my full strut mount in a glass case! Hope you get it fixed.
