Title: A big thanks to Zwickey
Post by: phil_des_bois on January 21, 2014, 04:50:00 PM
I remember being kid in the eighties, the emblematic broadhead to me was the green broadhead from Zwickey, it was the time when bowhunting was not legal in France. After trying different broadheads, I'm back to the Zwickeys, I love the design of the Eskimos and the "good ol' days" feeling I get when I look at my arrows.

Over the years I have noticed that the price of broadheads has gone crazy and I just want to say thank you to Zwickey for keeping a reasonable price and a top quality broadhead!!!

Zwickeys are hard to beat . The price is fair and they are very durable . There are other heads that are as good but they are more expensive . And you can loose the expensive ones just as easy .

Even in 80s during my wheelie days I shot Zwickeys. I did it for 2 reasons. Inexpensive and durable.

For years I shot the same broadheads into dirt butts at BH tourneys and then sharpened them up and hunted with them. Other guys replaced razor blades and bought new heads when their ferrules blew up.

Awesome broadheads.

"The sun never sets on a Zwickey broadhead."

And for good reason.....

Blaino, what is the rest of that? Thousands are sticking in trees around the world?

Tried and true... it's the broadhead I used when I first started bowhunting and I'm still using them today. Great broadhead and as you mentioned, still very reasonably priced.

I just finished mounting Zwickeys on my new arrows I plan to use for hogs in two months. No frills, just a good solid broadhead that is easy to sharpen.

I'm with ya.  To me it's the best all round head out there they have great steel and are really durable. I've shot em for 30+ years  seems they were blue at one time  I just can't see paying the amounts some are charging for broad heads now days. Zwicky has stayed under the same mfg for ever I guess. Not alot of heads can say that

Dave,  You have a good memory.  I still have eleven woodies with the 135 grain  blue 2 blade Delta Zwickeys on them.  The missing #12 was retired after two bucks and an elk, unfortunately too many years ago.

They've worked for me for many years, no need to switch, why fool with a winner.

Every time I sharpen my wife's Eskimos, I wonder why I don't have a quiver full for myself. Last year when my son was wading through the blood of the buck he just shot, he was wondering why he had not been using Zwickey Deltas before. I sometimes think that we do all of this changing things is just so we can change things. The hard reality is that a good average longbow or recurve with a matching arrow with a boring old Zwickey is just about as good as it gets.

Well said! I know it is not good for the economy, but that's what I keep repeating myself to try to stay away from buying the latest broadhead that will kill my critter, butcher it and put it to the freezer with just one shot, or the new designed bow that will out shoot my go to bow by 1ft/s and make me the king of the woods    ;)
