Title: Zephyr Sasquatch
Post by: jkm97 on January 17, 2014, 05:04:00 PM
Has anyone used these heads? I noticed they have a 1 9/16" like the big Sharks, but with a convex edge. Any reviews?

love the zephyr sasquatch flies great and leaves a huge hole.  they are stainless and very hard and can be hard to sharpen on a regular stone I use a razor sharp sharpening wheel system for sharpening and have great results.

I used them for a few years.  They are rugged, but I eventually decided they were over-wide for the 55# bow and cedar arrows I was using.  I switched to narrow heads (RibTec 125S - about 1/2 the price as well) for full penetration.  Lately I use Stos and Magnus II.

I took a steep downward shot and dropped a deer - but he regained his feet and stumbled off with two feet of arrow sticking up between his shoulders.  I spent three days of a canoe-in camping hunt searching for him through a swamp and never recovered him (a beautiful eight point).  Bad angle and my fault - but I switched heads as part of my penance.  I also swore off near vertical shots.  Confidence is a large part of successful bowhunting.

They'd be the berries with a 70# bow.

I like the way they fly and have both the black and stainless ones. I killed a buck with a 50# longbow and shot one hog with a stainless one. Ill be using them on my upcoming hog hunt. Got some from a good friend and they should be packed with mojo.

I use them they are my go to broadhead. They are sharp out of the package and with a little time with the KME sharpener they get scary.
