So as per the advice of some of the folks here on Tradgang I'm picking up some aluminum arrows with feathers for my recurve. According to my now-accurate draw weight and length, I'm looking at picking up half a dozen 2016s (Easton Tribute Arrows from Lancaster Archery). However, I'm having a tough time deciding on whether I should get glue-ins or screw-ins for my field points.
I guess I'm ultimately looking at the pros and cons of both, how to choose the right insert if I go for screw-in, and some other random advice. Thanks in advance.
I would get the arrows with standard inserts for screw in points. The screw in is a much more versatile route because you can get different weight tips/broadheads. Also, if you bugger up a point by hitting something hard, it is much easier to just unscrew it and screw another one in.

Thanks Bisch, that was where I was leaning towards. Will all standard inserts fit most field points, or do you have to get specific ones for each? I was looking at the Trophy Taker Tight field points on Lancaster Archery and they looked good, but I can't figure out which insert to get for them.
I have never used those field points but they should work just fine. Just about any field point or broadhead made should fit in the standard Easton insert, unless it is one of the new specialized skinny arrow components like the Deep Six components.
I don't think there is any insert made for that arrow (2016) that will not have the same threads in it.

Standard insert would be good since you are just starting with aluminum, you will be able to change points easily when tuning. I prefer glue on adapters for my hunting arrows since i have a ton of glue on broadheads
Yes - screw in is the way to go.
Also, just to prevent whatever point you use from loosening, put a little string wax on the threads before you tighten it.
The nice thing with aluminum is that there is no question about using hot melt for inserts...once you arrive at an appropriate point weight you can simply replace the inserts with glue in points if you wish
