You have a perfectly tune arrow
my question is ... cresting it will it effect its tuning?
No.
Crowning might. But that would depend on the crown method, I suppose. Stain - no. Sharpie pens - no. Dipped lacquer - might as it adds a few grains to the aft end. Tape rolled cresting and crown combined - I don't know (never tried).
just using paint
thanks
Not lead paint, it is heavy compared to acylic. LOL Should not affect it
I doubt you will notice it.
well its looks like another expense in a cresting machine
but what the heck its fun
Technically, it has to affect it. In reality, you'd never notice it.
X2 Dave. Plainly put I'm not accurate, consistent enough to see the difference when shooting.
I have not noticed any difference going from bare shaft tuning to capping, cresting and fletching other than my arrows fly a lot better with feathers on them. To small of a difference to tell given all of the other factors that influence arrow performance (ie, my bad form, poor release and moving bow arm). I usually cap with 2 light coats of white enamel spray, swirl dip with testors paint, crest with testors paint and then fletch and enjoy!
Unless you are hitting the 12 ring at 60meters every time you will never notice the difference.
Only once did I ever have an issue and that is because I used house paint to dip with. That stuff was so thick I must have added "pounds" to my shafts. Stuff never dried either.
