I am placing an order for an SBD string. My question is. I have some axis 400 arrows and some GT 400 expedition hunter. I am not sure which one I will shot for sure. What should I put in for what nocks I will be using to get the serving size correct.
I've taken and replaced all my CE Heritage TSX nocks with Easton Super nocks because I like them better. I just tell whoever I have making my string what nock I'm using and they usually come out pretty good.
So if I tell him to serve it for the axis nocks and decide to shoot the GT I can change the nocks in the GT with the correct size for the serving.
I've already found the strings I like and have just changed the nocks. It may be a little experimental at first, but if he builds them and they fit the axis nocks there should be no problem changing the nocks between the two shafts, that is if the nocks will interchange in the shafts you have picked. The Easton nocks I'm talking about went right into the CE shafts.
Axis nocks do not fit in Gold Tip 5/16 shafts. However, most nocks for carbon arrows have close to the same slot dimensions so shouldn't be a problem interchanging them. One may fit a little tighter/looser than the other, but not problematically so. Let your string maker decide how to serve the string given your needs.
Thanks for all the info. Greatly appreciated.
