Title: Wensel Brothers' flashlights
Post by: bluemoonrising on January 07, 2014, 09:44:00 AM
I looked on their site and I couldn't find the flashlights that they have been selling. Are the flashlights still available through the Wensel site? Peace!

I don't see the Mainbeam light or their excellent hats!

The good news is that Fenix sells the PB32 that is the same light, essentially (brighter now).  The older PB30 is the same light; I have one of these and love it.

Check out  www.BladeHQ.com (http://www.bladehq.com)  for a good selection and fair prices.

GOTTA BE CAREFUL....
he pd32 only has a 5 lum low setting
the pd30 has a 9 lum low.
I don't think I'd like the 5 lum low....

now the pd 32 ULTIMATE has a 9 lum low like the pd30 AND GETS A LOT BRIGHTER than the old pd30.

Also take a look at the pd35

Can depend.  If you just want to see where the tent ropes are on the way to Nature's Call or to stir the chili without destroying your night vision a 5 lum blip is often enough.

You never want to look too close at my chili.

yep.

I wish they'd make one with a 5,10,40,80,160,full brightness type steps. maybe even without the 40 or 80 setting.

Still think I'd rather have a 10 low rather than the 5 when the next step up is a "too bright for stealth" setting as they are in my opinion.

I've thought about using a little keyring cheapy led for those "blips" times.

Hey Boo-Fay, I mean Buck-Eye, we were talking about you the other day. It's been a tough fall for Stef, but she is hanging in there. Hopefully, your family is doing well! I see Ed once in a while, and we're talking about Kzoo. Give me a call.

We dropped the flashlights because of so many upgrades and options available. Every time we ordered more lights, the price would slide up and/or the models we carried were discontinued or replaced with something different. Just got to be a pain in the butt. We still carry the hats. The only one that was discontinued is the solid brown. Still carry OD green and green and brown camo. We will be at the Harrisburg show in a few weeks with a bunch of them. Stop by to save S&H.

The PD32 Ultimate has now 9, 40, 140, 400, 740 lums plus 400 strobe and 140 SOS. Great little light. I just got one based on what I read here a couple of months ago.

I bought the PD35 last year but hadn't actually used it much as I have a cheap headlamp with a red lense for walking into stands with. Couple weeks ago I shot a little buck  right before dark. I waited several hours to trail and started out using my coleman lantern like iI used to and had my headlamp as a back up. Half way thru the trailing job I thought about the Fenix light and pulled it out. Man, talk about awesome. I put the headlamp back in my pocket and left the lantern sit there.
This thing is simply AWESOME.  5 different brightness levels. I can't say anything more than if you want a great light for trailing, this is the best I've ever seen.

I have two of the originals from Gene and Barry...and wouldn't trade them for anything else at any price....those are exceptional lights for what was an exceptional price.
