Well I finally broke down and asked Santa for a couple trail cameras. Just pulled the cards today. Since this is one of my favorite threads I figured I'd get the '14 party started. Post away fellers.

You're welcome. It's actually 2 spots, and I'm lucky enough to live right between them. Jumped the first buck on my way in to camera and he ran right to the tree I have picked out, which is where the camera is when it took his pic yesterday.
Check out these bookends

What's all this land with no snow on it? Does hunting land also come without all this da--ed ice and snow?
Recently bought a trail cam and placed it in the yard--we now live on a lake with houses to either side of ours. The deer tracks we've been seeing in the yard proved to be up to 6 does coming around the house into the back yard and going to the lake. They are fun out of the woods!
It looks like your raising unicorns in that one pick. The other picks are great the #14 pick has a nice symmetrical rack

You are right rick. Deer will eat pumpkin before corn or any other food in front of them., They used to come into town just to smash my pumpkins while growing up. Most Halloweens I had duck tape on my pumpkins from where hooves had broken them.
those are some handsome coyotes.

Owlgrowler. Nice jersey bucks noticed the posted signs on one pic . State land? Looks like stokes. Any luck picking up sheads .?
Hey Dan, these are all on private land in Warren Co, but, pretty big woods and they get pounded hard by the brown and down wackem stackem lead slingers that feel that if the state is going to sell them tags then by golly there must be a surplus and they're going to keep pullin the trigger until the last passenger pigeon is gone. I've lived here for 26 years and every year I see less deer. More Bears. And you're kidding yourself if you don't think there's a correlation there. And , yes I usually find a few sheds every year

Owl growler I hunt up by the gap and I see more bear than deer also this past season I had a least 15 bear come to me on stand. 8cubs got them all on video from my ground stands at different locations .i think fish and game should include them during deer season ?
Two spikes. One has already crossed and barely visible on the left side of photo and this one antler buck. He is not looking at the camera but at a bird that had been buzzing him, perched on a limb near base of his tail. A black, lock-on strap is barely visible across the creek, straight up from the buck's left ear, 40 yards away. Everything that crosses here walks by this stand at 10 yards. It is a dynamite stand for three weeks in November. :)

A large, male bobcat got by me and crossed this log at 11:00 AM back in November. The reason I placed the camera here was to catch a bobcat walking the log. It took almost six weeks and a bunch of coons and coyotes before catching a bobcat crossing. I suspect it the same mature male. :)

Coyote rut is Jan/Feb in north Louisiana. These two love birds crossed this log twice in two hours.

Yep, medium bobcat. Several of them around!
Kenny,
Thanks for posting the pic of the buck I'm going to shoot this fall. Very nice and I appreciate you saving him for me. Make sure he eats well and gets plenty of rest before September.
;)
Cliff, those log crossing pics are great!
Charlie, make sure and choose carefully the buck you want, so I don't have to break too many to halter.....

Great pics Kenny! I need to get out there one day!
Kenny, I notice some of your pics have been zoomed in and some seem to be slightly turned. Do you have one of those cameras that oscillate?
No on the oscillating, but we have had a bunch of wind and some are on small trees, so they turn a bit.
Or it may be the evil squirrel that opened one cam twice and took the batteries out first, then since that didn't disable it permanently , next time he opened it and bit the power wire in two... :D
I gotta show him my bow I think....
Nice pictures everyone! It's fun to see what made it through the seasons, looking forward to getting my camera out.
-Jay
Checking some of my cams today.
This post made me buy my first cam . A moultrie. Can wait to use it . Thanks.
Checked a couple cameras this past weekend and repositioned one as the snow has gotten so deep the deer have changed their movement patterns.

Heres my first pictures of the year. We had a lot of rain this week with little deer movement during the rain. Today was the first dry day and seems there was a lot of movement this morning. I could see 3 deer feeding at mid day today.

Thanks for sharing your pictures everyone.
How do those who put their cameras on public property keep them from being stolen??
I put mine in lock boxes ... but if some one really wanted them I'm sure they could get them even if in a lock box. Fortunately that has never happened and I have pictures of hunters or hikers noticing my cams but respecting them. They are certainly no put in people high traffic areas.

I don't believe there are any more or less song dogs around but I am certainly getting a lot more pics of them this spring. The first two photos show 15 days growth in my little food plot behind the house. First time I have planted anything and it is coming in good. I don't hunt there but I can observe it from the kitchen window(you can see my house through the hole in the trees.
Neat pictures fella's thanks. I really enjoy looking at them.

Kenny! Only tree I had on the spot I wanted to try cam was a small dogwood. The other day we had very strong winds. Pulled it yesterday and it took about 200 pics in an hour or so when wind was the strongest LOL! I did get some pictures I was hoping to get though.
Matt, don't even ask how I figgered that one out!!
But when you still get some pics that you're after, so I guess its better than having it in a drawer! LOL
Here is a few from my sons cam. I just moved to Arkansas from California so this is going to be my first deer season hunting whitetail. Son is mentoring dad, I love it, we are both excited for the season to start.

Well they plowed the field this camera was by while I was setting it. I had one deer pic all week, I guess the plow has changed their patterns a bit.
I will say the one deer I captured is a beauty of a doe.

Kenny, That buck seems to be getting "bugged"
That doe looks like it is standing in my shooting lane from my first mornings hunt down there.
Last night I watched 2 separate does, each with with Fawn in tow, walk past where My trail camera was removed Friday due to only getting 1 picture all week.
Mathew, that buck should be a nice one!
I don't have a trailcam, but I'm sure enjoying looking at all your folks pictures. I'm staying tuned & THANKS

A crow at top of pic? My coverts have a great motion sensor, but the black flash isn't as good as it could be....
Kenny, no they don't. I actually returned the black flash model and got the Red 40. Luckily Covert has excellent customer service. Just wouldn't work for what I wanted out of it. I didn't realize that's how black flash cams work.
Is the Red 40 regular flash then?
Crows are a real pest.
Let one discover you sitting under a tree watching a trail & they'll give you away every time.
The Red 40 is infrared flash. They have a new one out this year that's actual white flash. Takes darn nice color night pictures.
Frank V, they are a pest indeed, but I've had the buggers help me out a time or two.
Thanks!!

Yup Occasionally they will point something out to you or alert you that something is moving.
Still mostly pests though.
Wow a nice bunch of pictures. Thanks for sharing.
Does this pic cut it? Do you think either are shooters, maybe give them another year?? ;)
I know camera says 2013, need to reset because pic was from July 2014.

A decent bull. The high Cascade bulls always lag behind in antler growth because their bodies have to recover from the lean times of the previous winter.

Some BIG scoops on that dude
Just put my cams out yesterday in my elk spots, late this year due to my total ankle replacement and not being able to walk. I should have some good pics for ya in a few to three weeks when I go back to change chips .... hope to have a few like 2bird soon, that's a dandy for sure !

Cool pics guys. Our hunting ground is completely under water this year, did find a spot dry enough the other day to poke up a camera.
Tim, where did the logs go?
While setting my Camera tonight on a Piece of public land I was scouting, I had a fawn walk up to me.
(http://i1135.photobucket.com/albums/m637/cjohntalk/trail%20camera%20pics/1405645923.jpg) (http://s1135.photobucket.com/user/cjohntalk/media/trail%20camera%20pics/1405645923.jpg.html)
Maybe I will finally get trail camera pictures of a fawn? Mosquitoes were Horrendous even with a thermocell, I look like I have small pox.
OK, I left the camera out for 5 days on public land. The above cell pic of a fawn was taken while setting the camera. I pointed it toward a creek crossing but think I would have had just as much luck pointing it the other way as there are 3 major trails here.
What do you think? I found a tree stand almost above this spot but a better spot 100 yards away where deer on this trail would eventually end up or come from but it also has a few more intersecting (heavier) trails.

I have picked 2 stand locations and will be getting the spot ready then letting it alone before hunting season.
For public land this is quite good here.

Great pics everyone. My camera that was on the Wensel wick was stolen this past Friday night.
That sucks about your cam Mike, nothing worse then being stolen from no matter what it is. Low life's!!!
Haven't posted here in a long time I don't have email on my laptop but we are just getting our cams going and these are picks with my phone off of my computer. Not the best picks but a few young bucks that are looking good and show some promise given some time to grow.

Tracy
I love these threads

Looking forward I the picks Mike

Great Pictures! I hope to have some from the Family farm in a few days.
Awesome picks Jim, nice looking kitty!
Tracy
Back to the scene of the kill eh?
Here's a better pick of the new buck that showed up, he's not super wide but boy does he makeup with a lot of character. They grow so fast and he has been hitting the mineral hard everyday since he showed up.

Wow! That's a beautiful buck Tracy! Maybe he'll stick around for ya.
That's one good looking new guy! Is crazy legs stil around?
I hope so Charlie, We just got the cams going and I sure would like for him to show up. He will be 7yrs old this year and the way he looked last year I beat his rack is really wild this year. awesome fruit and nut year tree wise and crops are really good too.
That buck is up in the clearing and has 3 buddy's that are real nice too.
Tracy
Fine looking buck Tracy ... I'm going up to check my cams in elk country next week so I hope I have something good to share with all you folks
The clearing? Dang! I need to get back out there one of these days.
Good looking bucks Tracy! I've seen some good ones but no luck getting pictures of them yet.
Jeeze Tracy! You are really good with trail cameras. Excellent pictures.
here is a fat buck up in the Apple Alley food plot

This one is putting on some nice bone. I like his brows.
Charlie, The clearing is were you sit in your gillie suit and in the blind up above the barns.
Its just a matter of time Travis before you start getting some of those big guys on your cams. looking forward to it bud.
John, I treat my cams just like I am hunting because I really am. Its easy to get picks of deer but hard to get picks of really big deer up close and personal just like we like our shots and to do it consistently year after year is so much fun and challenging. Big old velvet covered bucks fire me up for the season.
Thanks for the nice comments and great picks guys keep them coming there growing fast right now.
Tracy
Sorry to post picks of the same bucks but were getting more cams out now and should have some new critters to show soon. I just got photobucket finally downloaded on my laptop so the picks should be better now.
I sure like this bucks main beams!

These picks are in a small clearing in the woods on a ridge just above a valley full of crops. It is not a food plot but we do keep it mowed and a mineral lick there. We have been hunting this place for a very long time and It fills up with scrapes during the rut! I have gotten several PM's asking if it was a food plot.
Tracy

Charlie, you know that is a real decent buck for our part of the world. Most don't get that big.
Very True Ron. I wish I could say they were from NY. These pictures are from the family farm in WI.
Nice pics Charlie,
Lots of nice deer on your farm.
Oh yeah, I know exactly where the "clearing" is buddy. You know I really like that place too.
I think I recognize a couple of trees in the one picture.
I remember one year a guy asking you how you got so many daylight pictures of big bucks. Your reply? "If all you get is does get closer to the bedding cover."
Maybe we should run a thread about tricks for getting good pics of deer. Like you said, it's hunting. Set up in the wrong place and you won't be very successful.
Charlie J. those are great deer picks thank you for sharing them.
I thought you would remember that spot Charlie here's a better view of it from one of the stands.
I feel very privileged to get the picks we get but we work very hard at it. Maybe we could do a thread I still get lots of PM's and emails asking how we do it. Lucky I guess ;)

Jim I hope I can find a bull that size out there in about a month and standing at 20 yards broadside would be good too.
I hope you can too.If I had a whitetail around like your last pic,I'm not sure I could pull myself away to hunt elk.
Tracy, thank you for the nice comments. Your place looks really nice.
Travis... Great Pictures. the one oi the apples is a brute.
Travis that is a stud buck!! I'm on my way Tracy ole buddy :)
Got several pics of these guys this summer...
This one has a split G-2 on the left and a sticker on the main beam....

Yea guys, I think a "how to" type of thread on trail cam use would be great.
Kenny, Its a good thing I missed all those bucks last year ;) ;)
How many arrows did ya have wif ya? Got pics of several! LOL
Kenny, If I remember correctly, I emptied my quiver at least 10 times.
You did not!! LOL
Kenny, that 4x4 is a dandy.
Both nice bucks Kenny but love the mass and character points on that big 8 :bigsmyl:
Well hurry up Ryan!!! :campfire:

Tracy
For the love, Travis! That is a Monster!! Good luck!
Oh my! Great pics all around!
Thanks guys, I was more impressed with the quality of pictures my new high dollar camera takes. Kind of want another one but the dang things are spendy.
If you search the trail cam 2013 thread there is a pic of the buck last year on page 11. You will see what deer gain in one year, especially from 3 to 4. I know in most areas they just don't get the chance but it's kind of impressive to see.
Bobby urban,
The thing that you captured on film is not a bat.
Its one of these. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsK4OlftxQ4 the chances of catching that thing on film are astronomical.
Travis, what a stud!!
Here ya go

Don't know about astronomical, because in the last seven years of running many cams we have caught them more times then I can count at several different places. I've seen several other guys post the same too. Still cool to see though thanks for sharing

Jim, is that deer carcass there for bait? That's a big montana buck.
That's just a lion kill that happened to be there, where I decided to hang the camera.

Jake
I just checked my trail cam that is on a salt lick ear my house. This lick has been here for about 20 years and has become part of a main travel route through our property. So far this year practically all the pics I've gotten were Flossie(resident doe) and her young uns. The small buck is probably Flossie's last years fawn but these other guys showed up too.

I caught this guy steeling hummingbird water last week sitting of the front porch rail, about 20' from the chair I was sitting in. I yelled and he scooted out of there...

Good Pics Travis. It wont be more than a month before you start seeing your first hard horns.
Are there any trees out by you at all?
Out of curiosity when you hunt these deer do you hunt ditches and such?
Charlie, there are very few trees in my area. Mostly crop fields on top and big draws in the hills. I have two tree stands but you can spot and stalk fairly easy if you find one bedded. The hills are what keeps them alive from year to year. If they spend to much time on top by the roads theres a good chance they will get poached, it's a little western here.
Travis, If you call poaching from the road a Little western. I guess we are also.
Big Black market for deer in NYC. they call it "Deer Jacking" here.
JimB
Those are great shots of Elk.
Thanks for sharing everyone.
Cool palmated buck Travis
Charlie, Is the black market in NYC for horn for medicinal purposes?
Ryan, here is a head on of that palmated buck.

Here's a good pick of a buck you have seen already that were getting, he's still growing!

Great picks guys keep them coming season is getting close. Our bucks will start shedding around the first of September then it's a whole new ball game :D
Tracy
Thanks Travis! That is such a cool buck!! Tracy you know I like our "8" :)
Great pics guys!!
Nice pics guys! Love the drop tine Tracy!
Tracy, what you reckon the age of the droptine buck is?
He should be about six Kenny, been watching him for years. He's been a main frame 8pt for the last four. One of the biggest clean 8pts I've every seen a couple years ago, Here's a pick he only lacks mass.
He has gone down in size some with the drought the last couple of years but gained some extra points like they all do when they reach that magic 5+ age bracket. Just glad the EHD didn't get him we have several bucks missing at this spot.
Tracy
Tracy, you have some beauties growing there. The drop tine buck is my favorite thou.

This camera has been up for a good while and just now getting pics of deer. I had a camera stolen from this area when a guy on a crew took a crap in front of my stand and stole my camera while harvesting the wheat bottoms.

Mike, I was always going to try one of the scent wicks. Looks like they work.
Charlie, what do you feed those deer? That last one is a butterball.
LOL, the last one was from October last year ( lots of food). I am certain its the same one I have pictured in the previous post.
Yours are absolute studs and getting pretty plump themselves.
Travis, That wick does just what Gene said it would in his article. It really helps getting them to pass in front of the camera. My stand is less than 20 yards from the camera.

Funky headed buck from the same camera. He also look youngish, I would again like to hear y'all's opinion.

The same camera, different buck again. I think he may split on the end of his main beams and end up a good ten.

Different camera set. Not the best pic, but this one got me excited.
This feller has a some potential as well.
I have only had my cameras out for two weeks and got about 130 pictures. I have never seen so much deer activity this early on and I am stoked about this season.
Thanks for looking guys!!
Jake
Jake - you need to send a few of those deer west to Graham county, please !
Haha, I wish Florida lime!!! I would happily send you some if I could. I live in WNC, but I have a lease with some of my best friends in north central Tennessee. That's where are these deer are. Pitifully, most bucks in these parts get poached far before they get any size to them. If you're in Robbinsville shoot me a message sometime if your "out east" haha.
Shoot straight,
Jake
Great pics Jake and Travis.

Wow sure does look like it
How often are you guys checkn cameras now?
I check mine about every 2-3 weeks. When I first set them out I do not check them for at least three weeks. The more I check them the fewer pics I will get. I mostly have mine up for elk and they do not tolerate much activity to make them go away.
I just check mine when I'm in the area. I don't have but two or three out now and not in places I'm going to hunt very much anyway. They're in fairly close and these deer won't be coming through later when season comes in except after dark.
This buck here won't tolerate but one camera visit and he's gone till next July for the one series of pictures. This is the fourth yr. I've got the one series in the same spot.
I'm going to try seriously hard to find him this yr and hunt him..never hunted him previously.
We have 10 cams out, check them once a week and average 500 to 1500 picks per cam they are on mineral licks and well scouted trails leading into feed fields. That's a lot of picks to go through and I wouldn't want to wait any longer, we don't decent or use any special precautions they will smell you anyway and get used to you. Very rarely do we only get just one pick of certain deer then there gone, might take some time but they will come back. Flash cams never seem to bother them either as matter of fact they look more at the IR and seem to ignore the flash models at times.
Most of our deer here in eastern KS shed in the first 10 days of September, a few will go early and a few later but 75% or more will go in those 10 days. At least they have in the last 8 years we have been running cams and keeping records. Looking forward to seeing them shed but I will miss the velvet.

I love this thread ..... tell you what, though.... my hunting area does not have "critters" like that!

I'm going to respectfully disagree that the big ones don't care.....they do. I try not to put cameras in "kill" spots. It's like putting corn in the woods....yea, they like it, and they will eat it, but they know it ain't supposed to be there. Just my opinion.
I do agree, however, that them getting your scent is not totally bad. I'd rather a deer recognize it than determine it is completely foreign. Again, just my opinion.
Wow had to come back for another look.
Fella's thanks for sharing all those nice pictures.
With our Elk & Deer season starting on Sept. 6th it really starts the anticipation. :archer:
Nice picks guys, kbetts that 3rd pick is a dandy buck hope you get a chance at him.
No were in my post did I say the big ones didn't care or little ones for that sorry if it sounded that way, and I under stand they can be different in other areas of the country. I am speaking of our deer in our area's and as big as B/C bucks that we have taken with our bows. We do not use our cameras to locate kill areas or hunt over bagged corn either. I will hunt over standing or cut corn fields and the trails leading to them in a heartbeat if you think that's cheating for some reason.

Some of our younger bucks!

No signs of shedding on any of our bucks yet but it wont be long around the 1st. Here's a nice heavy new buck, not real wide but a cool looking deer.

Those are some big'uns....
I can get multiple pics on a mineral site, but elsewhere.....they're dang skittish after they find it.
finally got a decent buck hanging around. I spent some time and effort trying to make my few acres thicker. It's working. This is an area were a buck would be lucky to reach 2.5 yrs old. The photo was taken about 100 yards from my house and 100 yards from a main road.

This one is from the northern part of the state near our hunting camp. This is big woods country, all public land. Our famed PA deer hunting woods. This is an area where herd reduction was taken to an extreme in effort to improve habitat. I am happy to see a deer at all. So this is great! The camera was hung for 3 months. I had 680 photos of what appears to be 7 different deer. 4 does and 3 buck. Only this buck is legal. (must have 3 per side). The camera also recorded 3 bears and 2 coyotes.

BTW, my camera date/time will not stay set. My photos from this week say January 2013.
It is a bushnell trophy cam. I keep fixing the time time. It goes back to military time when I use it.
This is the first I noticed the year is wrong.
Anyone know how to fix that?
Tedd
There is a posibility that his deer is on the downward side. His muscles are really hard looking. I saw a buck like him. (read- I missed him with a rifle) about 3 years ago. He was bigger then. It could just as easily be a different deer but I wonder? (http://i1347.photobucket.com/albums/p714/tas0323/EK000086_zpsc3825a2e.jpg)

Great Looking Deer Guys. I have not been able to place my camera for 3 weeks. I hope to stick it out today or tomorrow.
kbetts, Nice pics. I like that cluster of trees in your photos, too. Looks like great cover to hang a stand inside. Good luck!

Nice pics Drew . I just put my camera out yesterday ( down to one because someone stole my other one ) . Made a nice little scrape and doctored it up with some Smokeys preorbital and foot gland scent can't wait to check it in a few weeks.
Good Looking Bucks Drew. You can call the one "Curly". Save him for Manny's arrow, you can shoot the Hog in your first photo. :readit:
I just put out my camera today. Finally have these deer figured out... They do whatever the want. Huh, imagine that!
Rumor has it a few good ones were photographed at the family farm. :bigsmyl: :campfire:

First buck out of velvet of the year on camera.
Very cool Travis. My buddies saw a 3x3lot muley Saturday that was hard horned. That's super early for out here! Good luck this year
We noticed something was pulling down our blue berry plants so I set the trail cam up on them. We've had a young bear around for the last month so that's what I was expecting. In about 2 weeks this is the only interesting pic...

My new favorite. I was in a different stand this night. Look close over the bucks' shoulder and you can see the Loc-on in a favorite killing tree. I would've been splitting hairs with the wind so I went elsewhere.

Looks like you got some whoppers out there this year Tracy.
Not a deer but this guy is definitely a shooter. There is a new tree stand about 12 yards to his right.

All I had this week is the resident doe and fawn and the resident 1 horn buck. Even though I saw less deer than normal, its a good thing, Its actually what I was hoping for if that sounds weird?

I have been averaging about 250-300 pics every two weeks. I have a bunch of does and smaller bucks coming around also, this is the highlight reel. The season is almost here guys, GOOD LUCK!!!
Jake

That's a goodun Charlie, hope you get a chance at him!!
Hey Charlie, nice pictures! Do you know off hand what Moultrie model you have? I have an A5 which is their entry-level camera. My only complaint with it so far is that the clarity of the pics isn't all that great.
Good luck this year!
David
p.s. that's a really nice buck!
Thanks Kenny!
David, I am not sure what models my father uses at the farm. I do know he has bought a few expensive cameras and they stopped working quickly. Just recently he went back to a lesser expensive camera only because we are not entering our photos in any contests.
His TG Handle is Chuck Janssen, you could try PM.ing him and see what they are.
Definitely excited to go home and have a chance at seeing some of the deer they have roaming they SW Hills of WI.
Thanks, Charlie. No interest in photo contests either, but it would be nice for at least some of my pics to not be blurry. The A5 doesn't appear to do very well with moving things, and since that's the only time it takes a picture, pretty much all of them are blurry. Here's an example...
I can tell it's deer, so for my purposes it's fine... just wanted to see what it would take to improve the picture a bit. In the end, I'd prefer more cameras over pretty pictures, though. :)
Night pictures aren't bad:

Thank you Charlie for posting pictures for me. Season starts in 2 days, but will not get to the farm till next week. Will get the new camera pictures then.
What time of the day do you all check your trail cameras? I hadn't really given this much thought, but on Monday when I went to check mine, I got this...
She was watching me walk in to check my camera, and without this pic, I never would have even known she was there.
After I got all the pictures off the card I created a chart that has picture frequency for each hour of the day. Not surprising, but deer were present primarily in the morning between 4am and 9am, and then again from 5pm till 8pm. There were a few pictures scattered at various other times of the day, but most were around daybreak and dusk hours. I don't know why I didn't think of this before :knothead: ... but for now on, I will make every effort possible to go to my camera/stand sites during the mid-day, when they hopefully aren't there.
I can't believe you were checking your cam at prime time 7:00pm and didn't think you would see deer :knothead:
If you were walking into a stand or something would be different but dang the first few hours of daylight, midday, and last few hours of the day are never a good time.
If you should be hunting you shouldn't be checking cams!!! Just think of it that way. Live and learn I guess  :D

I know, I know... I'm a little slow on the uptake, sometimes! It was a total amateur move, plus with work and kids, it's hard to find anytime other than early or late in the day to get into the woods. Like you said... live and learn!
Wouldn't even have considered checking at that time. If nothing else, hit the cams on a weekend....mid day. Killing deer with a trad bow is going to be real tough if you aren't considering how and when you enter your hunting area....just trying to help.
Kbetts - thanks for the help... apparently I need it! Rookie move from a rookie bow hunter, I guess. :)
To add to that, I find a mid day stroll to be a good time to take my daughter or wife and daughter if I'm not going "deep" or trying to be in ninja mode. I try to put the cameras in places that I can keep tabs on things but not necessarily in a spot I'm trying to kill them. It makes the ins and outs easier and less intrusive.
And don't worry about the rookie part....we were all one at one time.
lots to pick from

Here's a couple of interesting fellows.

The first one I sure would like to see! Can't see it in the picture, but a doe ran in first and stopped then took off and this guy had his nose to the ground on her trail. Just messing I'm sure, but still! 2nd buck was rubbing his head on the limbs.

I couldn't believe it when I looked on my card. It's on my property too. He's got some dandy buddies also. Will get them on here later today. Season comes in in 2 weeks. I'm excited.
Wow... that's fun!

This one is a new buck I had not seen yet. At least 10pts and some decent mass for my area. Look close in the oak over his left shoulder and you will see where I will be putting my father for the opener :)
This is a buck I call "Chester" He's the buck I'm hunting right now.

Tracy hope you or your get another chance at him or chester. Both are very impressive animals.
Thanks guys and good luck to you too!

Great Deer Tracy.
I checked my Camera this morning to find the Card Stolen and the Battery Port Damaged.
Must have been the 4Wheeler Trespasser with Tracks going right past.
That sucks Charlie, I've had one card stolen once this year and one erased. I'm glad they didn't steal my cam but it still makes you want to hurt somebody.
I hope your cam is fixable!

Here are a couple from the house.
Nice ones Ed.
Tracy, Thanks for the condolences. I was able to get the camera working again. I set it over a small ditch that's collecting acorns. The deer are walking the bottom sucking them up. Its at a spot where 3 of the most pronounced trails also cross it.
Its in a small strip of woods that divides one field with Corn and alfalfa and the other side is CRP. It seems they cross the CRP and mill about in this strip before heading out in the open, then vise versa on the way back to bed.
My Dad has a pic of a coyote with a rabbit in its mouth. I hope to have it shared in the next day or two.
I will work on getting that picyure and the new cam pics soon
Here are some of Chuck's Pictures

That is an awesome pic of coyote.
Yote pic is great! Hitman - I vote for the Split Brow buck to be #1 on your list!
hitman, that guy is a beast. huge body, split brow, good mass to his main beams, palmation on the right side - everything you could want in a buck. Good luck :D
Thanks guys for the good luck wishes. Good luck to all you guys on upcoming season. Above all be careful in your tree stands. A fall could ruin a lot of things for you, especially for your loved ones.
I like that yote pic.
I was very suprised at the coyote ure, We get some good ones every year of them rabbit, First one with a live rabbit. Wonder who will show up next week.
This is pretty good for around here for 1 week.

Nice wallow vids...like the way you put them together. Thanks for sharing.
Some nice footage Ron ... I like the sound on that last bit of footage with the bull in the wallow.
Thanks guys! BTW...I have NO idea what is up with that giant bull that has stubs for antlers...but the body is huge!
The first clip of the bull flopping down in bright daylight is at the same wallow I killed my bull 4 days earlier. My treestand was still 10 yards away!
I figure he might just be an old Monarch past his horn growing prime, he is a brute for sure.
Here are a few from my place in Kentucky

Funny, they picked the corn by me this week. went from deer every day to nothing all week just like that!
This is a good week for this spot. The 2 resident bucks showed again.
2 groups of deer passing the camera in one weeks time = good, on this farm.
