Title: Limb Cracks
Post by: matt61 on January 06, 2014, 05:50:00 AM
I have a 52" curved bed TD Colorado Bighorn and I took it out of its bow bag today and I noticed some very small cracks that run up the limb starting at the limb bolt hole and continue through both dowel pin holes and stop just pass the second dowel pin hole on the backs of both limbs. They are very fine and hard to see even with a magnifying glass and look as if they are only on the surface. Should I be overly concerned about them.    :help:
thanks

..Can post pics if need be...

That is quite common with a lot of the older Bear bows and is likely only in the finish...not sure if it is a common issue with some versions of the Bighorns...if the lines you can see are actually cracks that will catch a thumbnail run across them you can repair them with a thin CA glue like Loctite 420

Some times the glass will get those little fracture lines in it with no effect on the limbs strength at all... just keep an eye on it...
