I use skinny string 450+ on all my other bows, but I have been shooting '59 Bear Kodiaks and fell in love with them. I want to make up some strings, but I do not want to take a chance with damaging these bows with some of the newer materials.
What are some good string materials in addition to B50 for these bows that are safe to use on them.
Thanks
Gil
B-55 is the top polyester material.
Thanks Chad.
You made a lot of my 450+ strings. I may have to put in an order for few B55 strings, instead of making them myself. I know I can't make them as good as you do.
Is the B55 as forgiving on these older Bears as the B50 is?
Gil
B-55 in the modern version of B-50. A little less stretch but safe the older bows. It works very well.
Thanks Ron.

Gil B55 is all I'm using on my old Bears and have been very happy with it.
Thanks Marc, I am going to give B55 a go.

It's good stuff. Not in the same ballpark as HMPE materials, but better than B-500 or B-50.
I use B-55 and wool puffs and have come to prefer 12 strands of of B-55.
I use D10 and D97. I have an older 70's Kodiak Hunter and a really old Mag. Both love fast flight.
Any sponors use B55 ?
