Greetings! I am requesting more help inre arrow selection.
yall were great on the recurve choice 2016's fly really nice.
My question now is relative to a nnew longbow. The bow is a beautiful lh Royal R/D made by Wes Wallace. As best as I can tell the center is approx 1/8 inch before center. Of course my plan is to shoot off shelf.
The bow is 64 inches, 48 pounds at 28 inches and I draw 30 and typically shoot 32 inch arrow keeping tip weight to 150 or less. Kelly's chart points me in the direction of a 2018. Want to shoot roughly 525 to 575 gn arrow.
What do our experts say/recommend? Longbow is new to me.
I would determine what material I want to shoot and then I would contact the Bowyer and see what they recommend for spine wt.
I shoot a 64" 45# longbow and shot wood arrows spined at 55-60
I make my own from surewood shaft's Douglas fir and magnus's natural turkey fletchings
Weigh around 540-550s I believe
Hi, I'm no expert by any means... It looks like 32" 2117 with 150 up front should be perfect for your setup. This arrow will weigh around 575 grains. Good Luck with your new bow.

IMO you are on track with 2018. That said you should try the 2117 as well with that long of an arrow. Also have to factor in the weight arrow you want so it might be a toss up between the two sizes. I use 2114's that weight 540 grains out of my 55@28 Wes Wallace Royal. I cut my arrows to 29 in.
I find my Wallace likes the heavy arrows and for ranges under 25 yards I use my 2020 which weight in at 570grains. After 25 yards the arrows do drop like rocks but for most hunting that arrow would do me very well.
I am strictly a wood shooter now, but for a number of years, I shot aluminum. I had a 58# bow that loved 2117's. I have a 59# bow that will not shoot them at all but does well with 2018's. Go figure! My arrows are 29" long with my draw length at about 27", depending on how heavy my clothes are.

Tried the 2117s with 125 tip. Might could have front lladed more but felt it would be more than I would want for a set lf arrows, would love to hang around 125 to 150
Sent a coupple of 2916s downrange, also 125 points. Not bad but seemed some squirelly, maybe light.
Any recommendations? 2018s? Seems like next stop with different weight tips. Any otheer suggestions welcome.

For a wood arrow, you will be at 31" BOP so I'd recommend a 65-69 shaft.
I would opt for 2018. If you were a little stiff you have 1 1/2 in to trim back a little. I think 1/2 in for clearance is O.K.
I shoot about the same weight and length that you do and 2018's fly great out of my longbows. I use 125 gr. field points and broadheads. 2117's should work fine also. When shooting wood, my bows like 55# - 60# shafts.
