A friend of mine has been getting blisters on his fingers from something in the gloves he shots with. He has tried more than one brand. he is not sure if its the tanning or what. So do you guys know of a natural glove. Do they make such a thing

It may be the dye. Way back when I used to get terrible pits in my feet... when I told my doctor he said to get rid of the shoes, that it was something in the dye used on the inner lining...

It's probably not the glove, but tender skin. He may need a thicker glove, and or an deeper hook on the string, better drawing arm alignment, etc. If he plucks on the release, that will also contribute to blisters building up under the glove. A lot of shooting can lead to callouses, but if one doesn't stop in time on individual shooting sessions, you get blisters first.
Hard to say what's causing it without knowing where the blisters are, something about the gloves being used and the string (strand count) and serving material thickness.

The blisters are all around his fingers tips. Think about dipping your finger tips in hot oil that's what his look like

I've had to trim the excess leather along the seam on the inside of the fingers for just that reason.

They are not blisters from shooting or having the glove rub on the sides
The blisters really go all the way around his fingers. the sides the bottom and the top above his finger nail.
So I was hoping someone would know if they make an all natural glove. I don't know how to cure a skin or tan it so just trying to see what I can find out.

There is a couple of sponsors here that sale what they call a black glove it is made of non-leather material that might work or go to shooting a tab. Big Jim comes to mind and kustom king is another.

Tab? Not having the fingers trapped inside the glove with chemicals and moisture might be the trick.

I was thinking the black glove also. No leather in that one, but will not last as long either. I like the glove. It has good string feel. You can also look at the speed glove. That is by the same company, but I am not sure what the contact material is on the inside.
Also a tab would be a real good option. There are quite a few with a backer that will be a non-leather material.

I suggested a tab but his accuracy took ok a big hit. I think it might get be mental but he is trying a black 3 finger neoprene glove and taping his fingers.

Get a pair of your wife's yellow dishwashing gloves, cut the fingers off and use them inside the glove. I use this trick for 3D shooting to keep the glove from getting soaked with sweat, also your fingers will never get sore.

If its the dye in the leather you could try sealing the leather. I use a product called snow seal on mine for hunting in the rain. the leather doesn't soak up the water as much....

Sounds like an allergy to the leather or the dye. He needs to find a glove that does not contain what is causing this reaction. It should be pretty much that simple, but if not, a talk with a dermatologist may be needed.

Given the blisters you describe, it certainly appears to be an allergic reaction. Is this a relatively recent phenomenon (onset with a new glove, for example) or has he developed blisters from his first shot?

I wrote to John and asked him he has been wearing a glove for long time did he always blister?
His response
Nope. Just certain brands. But the reactions have gotten much worse the past few
months.
For years I've had it caused by shoes, belts, wallets. But it'd be gone in a day
or 2. Now it lasts over a week with 2 weeks to recover and what looks like
chemical burns.
Just got a new nylon one I like. Will be trying it out tomorrow.
