Got a Woodman's Pal for Christmas, can't wait to get out and play with it. Anyone else here have one? What do you use them for?
Great gift! The Woodmans Pal is one of the handiest tools a backwoods fellow can own. Mine is always in my truck. I use it constantly....building blinds, clearing trails, clearing shooting lanes, chopping kindling...

What Roger said......great tool  Must be twice as good......sorry double post.
Sounds like I'm going to have lots of fun with it.
Like Roger said. Mine is always in the truck and is used constantly. I've had mine for over 15 years. I've given one to both of my sons.
Nice Christmas present! I forgot about these tools, so thanks for posting. I just read your review again, Roger, and talked myself into ordering one. They are 20% off with free shipping until the end of the year.
Great tools. Made right here in PA too.
Tom
Ya gotta like the made in the USA part. It sealed the deal for me.
I also take mine to Canada bear hunting... makes it alot easier getting them out by cutting a trail vs. trying to follow a trail out...
have fun!

Ha! I forgot about that. I reviewed this tool on my website.
I have one or two awesome tool.
never seen one before,,,, whats the curved edge used for?
You can chop or pull it to you to cut. Got one back in the 70's. They were standard equipment in an emergency kit on some vehicles when I was in the Navy.We had the misfortune (or good fortune, depends on how you look at it) to salvage some vehicles when I was stationed at Roosevelt Rds in PR. The guy in charge said to keep what you want because the vehicles and their equipage were going to be destroyed. Still have mine and use it at times.
Nice gift! All I got was some body wash & deodorant (both scented and hunting, unscented)! You think somebody's trying to tell me something?
I like the looks of those things...maybe I should look into getting one for myself... :dunno:
I have looked at these for years! Maybe this is the year I pull the trigger and get one. They look like a great tool along side the chainsaw for managing my pine forest.
Jerry, order before the 31st and get 20% off and free shipping and then send me that 46# Taipan for X-Mas LOL! Might as well throw that 42# North Star in the box, too :biglaugh:
What are good brands to look for?
There's only one brand - Woodman's Pal. Made by Pro Tool Industries in PA, USA.
Man now I really can't wait to get out and use this thing!
Oh...I thought you said you had Woodie for a pal...
 :nono:
Love mine
Joe,
That was meant to be just between you and me. LOL
Thanks for posting this. I've wanted one of these since I was a kid and saw one that my fathers friend had. Now that you reminded me I just ordered one.If you google them and do some looking you can find them for less than the %20 off. I got one for $56 from another place with free shipping. This will be great for building blinds!
Denny

Where? and what model? that's a great price.

Chuck PM sent to you.

Our survey crews at work have one in every truck . They are wicked choppers and make short work of brush and saplings.
I've had one for years. The briar hook is great for vines that just bounce back when you chop at them--hook and pull, you can cut them at the base. Sharpen that part with a rat tail file.
