An extensive cast of gifted bowyers develop and sculpt their best work and bless us with mind boggling offerings. The coveted environment, of which we enjoy, breeds competition and spawns the best for next. Complacency may merely sustain the spotlight but an abbreviated time, for expectations are predicated on an ever hungry demand.
What are to be the showcase bows of 2014?
:dunno:
Have a Silvertip on order, Along with some fine trumpet calls Friend
I plan on building another homemade Hill style for the 2014 year of arrow slinging. I`m thinking bout a purty one this time...no paint.RC
MJB...A Silver Tip...That is quit something to look forward to....also, some special trumpets...that may hold you over.
RC>>>will be looking forward to any progress updates....one fine endeavor.
Awaiting a Morning star, forward handle hill style longbow, from JD Berry and a Sasquatch SS, static tip recurve, from Kirk at Big Foot Bows. Can't get to much further apart in design than that, ha, oh the Gemini in me. :bigsmyl:
For 2014 I have a Leon Stewart Lil' Slammer 56" in the works, wenge riser, carpathian elm burl veneers, bamboo core, sheep horn tips. Also awaiting my 100@30 Bama Hill style- full black out with beaver grip going to be named the 'Werewolf'. That one should be done any day maybe still make it in 2013.
MJB, how have you been man? Have not heard from you in a while. Going to Denton this summer?
A new Talltines recurve with extra special decor for my hunt of a lifetime...goats and moose in BC. It was to be my Africa bow, but with my wife threatening divorce (kidding) I opted out and chose a new bow and my old wife versus an old bow and a new wife :)
It will be special. I have my eye on some woods and a extra set of black glass limbs for my turkey hunting habit in dark spots and black blinds.
I am amazed at all the great offerings by the talented bowyers here. I have owned many new bows and I can tell you not one time have I been disappointed in the workmanship. There have been some I did not shoot as well as others because of my "style" of shooting, but every single time a new box or tube comes to me I am amazed!
Another Dale Dye.
I've got about 3 months to go for my Sasquatch SS, tulip wood riser with juniper veneers
Black and White Ebony Black Widow PSAX.
Friend,
Always good to have a few spare trumpet callers.
Interseptor,
Been doing good. Down for the longest time without a computer. I'll be a Denton this year.
Might be the first year that I don't get a new bow made.....although it is really early to make that claim!!!
Sometimes I forget I have an addiction!!
I have a Widow, 2 Hills, and new set of ILF limbs all used but new to me. I think I will just focus on them for now........plus all my other stuff. That should keep me busy in 2014....lol!
For 2014 I am offering a new belly mounted static recurve called the Steppe Eagle.
God bless, Steve
I think I'll make myslef a new three piece longbow...probably a couple of 2 piece Buffalo's and maybe a ThunderChild or two. Might want a new set of limbs or three for my recurve.
You would think my collection of personal bows was quite large, but seems that I just can't get attached to any one bow except a couple of Bear bows I don't shoot much. Besides, others get attached to them and this way, I always have a new bow to shoot.
BigJim
Waiting on one of the new two tone Bear takedowns to add to the rack for 2014.
Come late January i'm finally going to start building a two piece long bow.... I've been avoiding that one.... Never could get past the part of cutting a perfectly good bow in half.
Whats a Trumpet call?
I've been eyeballing the widow pmax, probably going to pull the trigger on that one after the new year.
Jake
Two Tracks...a Turkey Trumpet Call is a suction yelper which is operated in the same way as a wingbone call.
Generally, they may me more difficult to run and master than other popular turkey call types. However they have their own sound which separates them from being easily identified as a slate, box or diaphragm. They are great at soliciting positive turkey responses but unfortunately have attracted numerous hunters over years past.
How fine it is to hear when a bowyer finds an opportunity to treat themselves.
I got ya,
I like wingbone calls
Thanks.
I have a decked out Schafer with extra limbs due in a couple months. My decked out Wild Horse Creek was just finished a couple days ago. And Beth and Dave have several bows of mine getting refinished and redone with extras. Going to be an interesting year.
