Title: Orlando area archers!
Post by: davidzhunter on December 17, 2013, 03:58:00 PM
Hello all. I'm new to traditional archery, but I am loving every minute of it. I used to deer hunt with a riffle years ago, and now moving to Florida, I wanted to try something I've always wanted. Traditional shooting and bow hunting.

I've started out with a bare Samick Sage and it's going great. Although I think I might switch to a Bear Montana or try to find a HH someplace cheap.

I'm hoping to find a few people near Orlando who also like to shoot and maybe know a place to go stumping and maybe take a few rabbits or whatever. I'm kind of sick of shooting a max of 20 yards in my backyard and trying to not hit my fence!

Thanks all for reading.

Cheers,
David

Thanks for the info guys.

Are there any places to just go shoot outside?

Also, what do you think about the HH vs the Montana for a guy coming from a recurve?

If you can wait, go to one or two of the shoots listed.  You may very well see the very bows you are wondering about and get to ask those questions right there and maybe shoot the bows yourself.

You will also meet folks that shoot arrows and you just may find a new friend.

Florida shooter here and just got started.  I live 20 minutes south of Daytona Beach.  There is a 3d range in Daytona by their airport which I am thinking about joining, but its not trad only.
