Anybody familiar with this bows? thinking about getting a longbow.
Dave
They are nicely made and sweet shooters. Good solid bows. Good value for what he asks for them. I had one and shouldn't have let it go. He has a lot of fans in Michigan. His bows are nice enough to have a larger following.
Tom is a great fellow and a super bowyer. The thing that you will learn to appreciate is the fact that Tom only builds what he would shoot. Not CNC machined he hand builds each one, so no two are exactly alike. Eyes it and creates it. My wife and I both shoot his bows.
We have over 15 high quality bowyers in this state of MI and Tom Moran has a large following. I shoot one of his 3p takedown longbows. Stable and fast. Best bang for the buck of anyone around. Stands behind his work too.
You can't go wrong w/ any of the high quality bowyers out there. But Tom is the best kept secret in archery right now.
I have watched Tom progress through the years as he sometimes shoots at our club, especially the winter indoor league. His bows are truly custom and he has a good eye for wood. The fit and finish is very good, very quiet and plenty fast enough. I am a lefty and I have only been able to shoot a couple of his bows, but I will have one.

I once told Tom that I'd love to shoot one of his 3p bows, just as soon as I saw one on the rack that was 64". He said he couldn't make a 64" on his form. That year at the Expo in Kazoo I walked by and he said there is a 64"3p hanging there. No kidding. I shot it....3x and 3 X's. I ordered one immediately. Great bow. My summer shoots bow. Love it.
My wife uses her 3p for hunting. And loves that one as well. Tom is a wood junkie. If you want a color or grain he'll find it as best he can. Loves a challenge. Great guy.
