Title: Christmas card idea!
Post by: snag on December 16, 2013, 12:47:00 PM
I saw this on another site and thought I'd pass it along.
The reason we have the freedoms we do, such as walking in the woods and shooting bows and arrows, is because of the brave men and women who put themselves in harm's way to protect our country.
Just a reminder as you are making out your Christmas cards send some off to:
 A Recovering American Soldier
c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center
 6900 Georgia Avenue
 NW Washington, DC 20307-5001
Just a small thing. But it might mean a lot.
 Merry Christmas!
     David

From having been a patient there (NOT due to a combat wound, mid-1996) I can tell you that it becomes a dreary place after a while. Any contact from outside to break up the monotony is greatly appreciated GOOD CALL.

I have not been in the hospital or in the situation those who are there are in. But I can imagine that knowing others appreciate their commitment to our country and that others are praying and thinking of them might just lift the spirits of those soldiers. It is such a small thing, but hopefully it has a large impact.
  Merry Christmas!
