Title: Multiplying bows
Post by: MCNSC on December 14, 2013, 09:23:00 PM
About a year or so ago I had sold all my bows except one. I was a one bow guy. Well today my lovely wife was cleaning up the spare bedroom and wanted me to get my BOWS off the bed. Get this, There were 5 right there on the bed, where there used to be only one.  Who would have thought bows would multiply like that?

You need to keep your bows off the bed!!!  They get all kinds of ideas when you leave them unsupervised on the bed.

Perhaps they are rabbit or hog bows.

That's what happens when you keep them in a bedroom. Try hanging them on the wall - separated.

The thing is the one bow I started the year with is the one that I almost always took hunting. I did pick up a 57 Kodiak for cheap, took it hunting a few times.
I guess I need to make a rack for them.

Put 2 in the closet so your wife can see them. When you get a new one , put it in closet, take one out so there is still 2. Unless your wife shoots, all they see is 2 bows, not what kind. Works with rifles also.

The condition is known as Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) and there is no known cure.

I've had GAS with bows, firearms, guitars, tools, even dirt bikes!

I have four bows, down from five, and my wife thinks I should de-populate to two.

Luckily for me, all bows look the same to my wife - only keep 6 on the rack where she can see them.

They do multiply!  I'm selling some bows and forcing myself to figure out which bow I would sell before buying another.

I have too many bows.  But I have bows that I will never get rid of also due to the sentimental value.
The first 2 longbows I owned were gifts from my lovely wife.  I have a KMag I made my first trad kill with.  I have my first full custom bow spec'd by me.
Then...LOL...I have the bows that are me.  They are me in the sense that they are the ones that just "work" for me.  As far as longbows go, the MOAB is perfect for me.  As far as recurves go, the Kwyk Styk and Steppe Eagle are without peers.
Yeah, I gotta get rid of some of the others...LOL

The gestation period for some bows, in all respects, may be quite abbreviated.

I have about 20 or so. Never know when I will need another bow.
God bless, Steve

So, Ron, are yours still in the bedroom? They seem to be multiplying as well.

LOL! I think my bows might be sterile! I've been wanting to bring a few more in to the family, but no luck so far. Is there a bow fertility specialist I can see?  :dunno:

bows are a lot like pets the more you
get the less each one gets to eat.  I will graciously put my home up for the new bow pound. I will do my best to walk and feed every one.  visiting hours will be from 5 pm to 8pm Monday through Friday.  I strongly recommend contraceptive as this is a epidemic.

Fortunately my Man Cave is outside above the garage.  My wife doesnt go out there much at all.  So lots of multiplying happens out there, including the Tip on order and the Wild Horse Creek on order.

My bows have stablized at 6 for now but my arrows and shafts keep increasing by leaps and bounds. Easily over 600 now as I feel the need for several dozen for the bows I have, used to have, may have next year...........never a problem with a correct arrow for a new bow. #2 used to voice her opinion on what was "too many" so she had to become someone elses problem...........
