Title: assenheimer..or..Lee..which will it be ????
Post by: redeemed on September 12, 2007, 07:49:00 AM
I have a awesome assenheimer curve 62" 50# @ 29"
(like new)

I have a awesome lee classic curve 6o" 49# @ 28"
(like new)

both of these shoot 100% but I can handle the assie better, shoots more where I am looking, better arrow flight, Quieter than a church mouse!
My ONLY hang-up is it is 62", which ,when stood beside the Lee, is actually 1 1/2" longer.

I think the lee ( pardon the pun) looks classier, and I am sure the game I am pursuing won't even notice, so please lend your thoughts, and ideas. after deciding, one of these will be for sale, along with a hh wes spec(like new)

Longer is smoother and an Assy is very smooth.  Great bows!

Depends on you. A lot of Lees are up for sale so unless you price it real cheap expect to hold onto it for a while. For a difference of 1.5" and it being that quiet, I'd keep the Assenheimer myself. Maybe use the Lee for back-up services.

All of life's big decisions should be made with the "Magic 8 Ball".

Does 3/4 inch on each end really make that much difference to you?  I know it wouldn't to me, and I would go with the bow you described as handling better, shooting better, and quieter than a church mouse! By the way, Don Assenheimer now makes a bit shorter riser that will make those limbs into a 60" bow!  Best of everything then.....Dave

I believe the Assie is a much better bow than the Lee.  Not that the Lee is bad, but the Assie wins hands down in terms of perfromance.

Like Vermonster said....The down side is the Lee will bring squat on the used bow market.  Tons of em out there for sale and you bout have to give one away to get rid of it.

It's almost a shame to sell the Lee cause literally, you'll get little more than 1/3 of what it cost new.

Brad, from the looks of your post the Assenheimer fits your requirments, keep the Lee for a back up until there is a better market,or shoot them both and have a blast! good  luck.                                                                                                joe

I ordered an a new Asse from Don and picked it up in Wheeling in March. It's quiet, fast and all bocote and very easy on the eyes. It gave my Silvertip a run for it's money as my hunting bow this season. But it aint going nowhere! The Assenheimer is best value out there.

redeemed, Not sure what the problem is. You've got two out of three of the best medium priced bows available, ( Predator, being the 3rd, IMO ). Why wonder? Shoot, and enjoy.

I've been shooting my Assenheimer for 16 years now and love that bow.  I'm looking into a longbow now but I'll NEVER get rid of the Assie.   ;)  Don't do it.
