Who makes a SHORT longbow with:
1) No stacking at 29" draw
2) two piece design
3) smooth draw
4) NO hand shock/jumping/vibration felt during the shot
5) is QUIET
6) can cut the grip to match that of my favorite longbow if I send them a full sized casting of it
Looks are unimportant. I'm thinking of pure function here. Might even go with that grey plywood stuff or have it camo dipped. I'm looking for a good dedicated hunting bow that is easy to transport, fits in blinds well, and isn't too pretty to beat up hunting.
Big Jims. I just got a TC and I love it, and,...... it is beautiful!
He has some in stock if you can't wait for a custom.

Hey, Tom, you bought a longbow! Cool! If you shoot it as well as your Dalaa, those critters in AK don't have a prayer!
Wish I could make it back up and see you guys, but Sandy and I bought some hunting/fishing ground down here, so it won't be for a few years if I do. Hope all is well with you guys up there!
Sorry to hijack the thread. I've not shot one of Big Jim's bows, but I hear nothing but good about them. If Tom recommends them, you can bank on it though.
Dan Toelke also makes a bow like the one you described. I don't have one of his longbows, but my Chinook is about as good a quality as a man could ask for.
Check out Java Man Archery "Elkheart" by Gregg Coffey. This is an amazing little longbow. I have a 58" version that is my favorite bow to shoot and I have a longish draw of 31.5". They come in shorter lengths as well. Gregg is a fantastic bowyer and a great guy.
I'd say Big Jim Thunderchild or a Thunderstick MOAB.
Both are fine choices.
I have had the pleasure of owning two coffey shrew bows and I see no need to look any further for a short long draw bow. ive had 58inch and 60 inch drawn to 31
What do consider short?

56" and under. The shorter it can get without loosing performance the better. This one is for convenience when traveling and fitting in tight places.
Elkhart by Gregg Coffee. I have a 54 Incher that is just a pleasure to shoot....high performance and very shoot able.
hello, my don dow 54" stykbow is also a pleasure to shoot, albeit i only have a 27" draw, but my s.i.l. has a 29" draw and he says there is no problem shooting it. nice bow but one piece, rich pyle
Another vote for Big Jim's Thunderchild...
Big Jim for that size. I'd like to have another one for Turkey hunting and deer hunting out of pop ups.
Don't forget the Great Northern Lil Creep longbow. It's 58"...draws VERY smooth...hits hard and is available in the jacknife takedown system. Jerry Brumm is great to deal with...
