Investigating details of a take down recurve. What is the best book to get to educate myself before I take the plunge and decide to start building a hot box etc. ? Thx in advance.

I built mine several years ago, and am not aware of all the books. Bowyers Bible I, II, III, IV, and Jack B Harrison's book, Traditional Bowyer, More Unnecessary Fun cover it all, printed in 2005.
Check the list at 3Rivers, Kustom King, Primitive Archer, Traditional Bowhunter, to name a few.
I don't know of a book that deals exclusively with takedown glass bows. There are a lot of books that deal with selfbows. Jack Harrison's Traditional Bowyer, More Unnecessary Fun, is probably the most indepth book on glass bows, but it deals almost exclusively with longbows.
Your best resource for questions and help is the Bowyers Bench forum here on TradGang. Bingham's would be my second choice, they don't have a book, but their instructions and video are fairly clear.
Bingham projects has a decent CD available.
The How-to-Resorces forum here on Trad Gang has some great build a longs.
Back before VCR and DVD became popular Binghams had a pretty extensive instruction booklet. You might give them a call they might have a left over copy or two.
Great info. Thx to all
