It was a dark and stormy night. Actually, it was a unseasonably warm day. I decided to go out at the last minute and didn't even get out of the driveway until around 15:30.
I had noticed the deer movement had shifted in one of my favorite areas and set up in a new spot to try and take advantage of it.
No treestand today. I found a blow-down and setup my Torges tree seat so that I was surrounded by downed trees and limbs. No camo either. Just brown plaid and a Filson vest today.
About 16:30, crunch, crunch, crunch. Two bucks were coming my way. And they were going to come very close.
The lead buck was the bigger of the two; he was going to pass by at about 10 yards and I decided to try the shot.
The first buck came abreast, it felt like he was right in my lap, but he didn't notice me or my blaze orange fedora. The following buck was about 20 yards behind and his head went behind a tree trunk just as the leader stepped by. I raised my bow and drew.
The arrow was gone in a flash and the shot looked good. The buck ran forward about 25 yards, stood for a few seconds and tipped over. The follower was just looking around until I decided to stand up, he saw me a ran back the way he'd come.
No tracking job with this one. Which suited me just fine.
I have to say, being eye to eye adds a whole other layer of excitement to the hunt.
Predator recurve 51@28 (I just bought used a couple of weeks ago). Simmons Tiger Shark. Complete pass through.
Here are the pics.

Looks like some mighty fine shooting! I just ordered some Tiger sharks today, just gotta try them. Congrats on your buck!
Good shooting!
Very cool!! Congrats! By the look of the entrance and exit wounds I am guessing you were set up on a ridge or hill above the deer even though you were on the ground?
Appreciate the comments.
Flingblade - He was actually quartering away above me. The lower hole is the entrance.
Nice buck! That was quite an adventure for you!

Nice Job Predators are great bows
that is the spot we should all shoot for.....
Looks like he was a little higher than you were by the looks of the entry/exit wounds. I know you didn't need to track that guy, but those Tiger Sharks do put some blood on the ground! Nice job!
Congrats, great bow, great shooting and an awesome buck !!
