wow is that cute !
Good training.
I just put some money down on a spring litter Wirehaired pointing griffon. Can hardly wait (but it isn't even conceived yet).
I love puppies. Had dogs all my life. Wish I could have one of each kind ( OK, well, maybe not some of them, I just can't see walking around with a blood trailing Pomeranian, ribbons and all).
Good luck with your new buddy

Corey when I was training my lab to track I use the blood from defrosted deer roast. It worked great with a weiner at the end of the trail for the reward. I know you have plenty deer meat in the freezer.Of course it is another good reason to go hunting also.Beautiful pup good luck with her.Kip
What a face! Beautiful little pup...
Nice!
Yes, indeed! Not only a great companion, but a nose that can lead you to your venison.
Awesome! I just told my wife the other day that a Dachs is the next dog I want! She's on board!
That's a pretty pup Corey!
Adorable.......does she have a name yet?
I love them (obviously)!
ANY tracking you can start the pup on will help him learn to use his nose. You can tie a chunk of hot dog on a string and drag it around the yard and it helps. Get him excited about tracking as soon as you can. Keep his enthusiasm up and he'll REALLY get turned on when you get him on some blood. They don't even need blood. I have a set of tracking shoes that have hose clamps at the back. Clamp a short chunk of deer leg in it and they will trail the hoof prints. I keep a set of legs in the freezer. Let them thaw out and the inter-tarsal scent will be "trackable".
You are going to love your new partner. She will be the "personality kid".
Ha! That's a cute pup!
That is going to be my next dog. Beautiful.

Yes Sir her name is Mesha. I plan to start making short blood trails in my yard and give her a treat and lots of praise.
Man they are cute. That makes me really miss the little tracker I used to have. He was a good dog. Good luck.
Even though she's your dog... I LOVE HER!
Hope you and Mesha have a great and v-e-r-y long friendship, and many, many adventures together. She is a beauty!

Great dogs, I miss mine. They make fine tracking dogs. I just got a beagle pup to train and see if they are any good. Tracking with a dog is a blast.

Man that is a great looking pup. I used the wirehaired teckels in my Canada bear camp the last two years and they are just awesome. I sure wanted one bad but that wait list was just so long. I lucked into a Bavarian scent hound pup and I get to pick him up on Wed. in Illinois. I am PUMPED!
Congratulations and good luck with your pup.
