Can't wait to see how she shoots!!
Very cool looking bow!
If it shoots anything like it looks, it will shoot very, very well!
Nice :D
That is nice!
She's a beauty
Gorgeous!!
I like it!
Pretty bow. Anything from Kirk ought to perform very well.
Very nice Bob. Bows have gotten pretty these days.
Awesome!!! Kirk does beautiful work!
Dang it! I had just finished shoving Kirk's bows into a little corner of my mind, where they wouldn't bother me for a while. Looks good though.
Thanks, all! Kirk sent me some snap shots of the finished product late yesterday!
She looks stunning!
I'll get a full review up with pics when I get the bow in my hands early next week!
It needs shots of the limbs, you can't have a pin up girl with showing her legs :goldtooth:
Nice bow Bob!
I like it!
I like it!!
I like it!!!
That is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship
Now Bob, did you REALLY need another bow????
Beautiful bow! I hope to see it in person this spring.
nice eye candy
Wow!,
Marc,
According to Kirk, she's definitely got legs! :p Initial chrony results is 199 fps (I know, I know - it's not 200 +) with 10.2 gpi hunting set-up.
That is plenty fast for me!
Jim,
Yep. Planning on having her with me in Florida! Gonna be tough - my SS or my Centaur Triple Carbon!?! :help:
Had really hoped to have her up and running for the upcoiming Hog Wild hunt in SC this coming weekend, but you can't rush a master!
Think I'm gonna have to move up to 340's for this baby!
need a full report when it's in your hands....got one coming myself in a month or so
That is truly a beautiful bow!
Please give us a complete report! It certainly is a looker. Let us know how she shoots.

Nice bow Bob!
Since Bob is going to run off and go hunting tomorrow, i thought i'd slip one finished photo in here without all the sealer running down the riser...

Just received this "teaser" from Kirk. 98% + complete. He is hoping she will ship tomorrow!

Love the flush limb bolt detail and the black glass/carbon limbs!
Looks Good, like the curves.
I like the pics of the legs on that bow she is looking so fine
Absolutely stunning
Nice! Congrats rbcorbitt, and great job Kirk.
What a beautiful Bow!
A most appealing piece of art.
Is the riser wenge and bocote?
Friend,
The riser is Maccasar Ebony with Bocote "fang". Just got her in mail today, and all I can say is WOW!
I will post up some more pics shortly! Kirk outdid himself on this SS!!
Sweet bow!
NICE!
Very nice looking bow.
Have issues downloading pics here at office, so will get some more pictures of this beauty up when I get home this afternoon!
Went home yesterday at lunch to package up a couple items that I had sold on TG Classifieds. Weather was the best its been in awhile - mid 40's and sunny.
I assembled the Sasquatch SS, and as I was awaiting a response from Kirk himself on recommended brace heights, strung her up and braced it to 7 3/4". Kurt had provided one string (a 12 strand that he states he was getting better performance out of) with two cat whiskers and an adjustable string nock that I twisted up to what I typically shot on my Centaur.
I grabbed 4 of my typical hunting arrows for my R/D and recurves, 400 VAP's cut to 30.25", internally footed with 300 grains up front (595 total arrow weight), and headed out to the back yard.
This bow (58", 57# at 28" - I draw a tad over 29") is SMOOTH!
No hand shock and super quiet at the 7 3/4" brace height.
The grip - well, how do I put this - was as close to perfection as I have found! Kirk matched my hand dimensions to a T :notworthy: !!
Now to provide my rudimentary basis of comparison, my deer 3-D target, with the occasional exception of those spots that have been hit continuously, will typical stop this same arrow set up (over 25% FOC) right at the fletching with my triple carbon Centaur Dark Matter (chronied at 185 fps by Rick Welch with this arrow set-up).
At approximately 18 yards, I let loose my first arrow to see it hit
1) exactly where I was looking, and 2) disappear completely from sight! I moved back a step at a time with the balance 3 arrows. All were hitting in the heart/lung area of the deer target, but none of then were visible from my side of the 3-d target. What beautiful arrow flight - I could briefly see the spiral of the florescent lime fletchings as the arrows zipped towards the target!
Upon walking up to my target, I saw that all 4 arrows had blown completely thru the target and where sticking in the dirt on the other side!
Moving out to 25 - 28 yards, I mentally adjusted for any drop due to the extended distance, to only have the arrows hit 4-6 high - in other words, minimal noticeable drop at this distance!
Now I knew why Kurt had added the inscription "Shoot Low, Brother!" on the riser! This bow can shoot (Kirk was getting 199 fps with a 10 gpi set-up). WOW!
I got an email response from Kirk early yesterday evening suggesting a brace height range of 7 - 7 1/2" as well as some string position suggestions for the two cat whiskers that he provided with the string. If it shoots any better and quieter at a lower brace height than it did at the 7 3/4" that I started off with, then I will be doubly impressed!
Granted - I have only shot around 20 arrows through this SS, but I am super impressed. Great looks and performance as well! This one's a keeper! :clapper:
More pics as soon as I can get them uploaded!

Whoops, don't know how that happened! Was trying to edit initial post! Sorry Moderators!!
All I'm going to say is
Ok. Stopped by home for lunch (the concrete block business is slow this time of year), and uploaded some photos.
Here you go!

Love the color combination and those curves!! :goldtooth:
WOWWW!! Beautiful!!!!!
wow, that is a looker!
I think I am getting sick....I feel new bow fever coming on.
this just makes the wait for mine all that much harder! great looking bow!
As an old wise gentleman once told me ..... You COULD kill an animal with an ugly bow, but why would you want to do that!
My only complaint with my Sasquatch is it shoots high.
the limbs just melt into the riser...looks like a one pc, what a beauty!!
NOW, Bob, You personally KNOW what all the fuss was about...Among us last summer :D
As I read your review, I had to chuckle... about blowing arrows THRU your old 3D.
I had to go up in spine to tame my XX carbon limbs on the longbow version...Amazing workmanship!
I even loaded mine up w/ more front weight... and while that isn't Kirk's cup of Jo, they really don't drop much at all out to my effective limit of 25-30. Beyond that... I'd not have a clue since it's not MY cup to shoot that far!
That must let some awesome bow to make you leave the Centaur at home. Bow looks great--good luck on the hogs with it. Roy

Thanks for the great review Bob. I appreciate it. But i need to clarify that 199 i got out of her wasn't a real accurate test. My grain scale crapped out on me and i was guessing on arrow weight by using one of my hunting shafts that are supposed to be 568 grains with a lighter tip. so that wasn't 10 GPP
These things do like heavy arrows though. The "Shoot Low Brutha" part cracked me up. I just got a little feed back from Keith Langford on his new SS and he said the same thing. "Perfect left to right arrow placement, but it shoots high bro."
Once you get used to a flat shooting trajectory it will spoil you. It definitely helps on yardage accuracy.....
Glad you like her bro.... Kirk :archer2:
Oh brother, I just adjusted to shooting high with my sasquatch now will need to do it all over again with the ss, the things we put up with. hehe.
Great looking bow, he said enviously, congrats to corbit and Kirk.
Stunning bow. Everyone ought to own at least one.
God bless, Steve
Kirk,
I like her a lot! You done good  !!
Shot the SS around 30 times this PM and even shot it along side my Centaur (my go-to bow). Hate to admit it, but the SS is faster, and even though it is a static tip recurve, IMO it is just as quiet as my Centaur shooting the same arrow set-up.
It pains me, but sorry Jim!
Love them both!! Two great bowyers! :notworthy:
Love the Blacktail checkered accent stripes.
really nice, like everything.
That is a nice compliment Bob. Jim Neeves builds a beautiful high performance bow.
Glad you are liking the new Sasquatch SS... time to go shoot some piggies with her now. :goldtooth:
This thread is not making the wait time any easier...... :readit: :banghead:
Bob, glad your liking the SS. I am loving mine, It is outshooting my Ultimate, and that is saying something. Hate hitting a dime every shot, so far out to 30 yards, this thing is on the money. I posted a short review over on product reviews for everyone to check out, sorry I cant get the pics to post, maybe Kirk can add the ones he took.
Was waiting to hear from you, Keith!
Email me some pics and I'll get them posted.
Bob

Thank's for the posting the pic's Kirk, if my shoulder will heal up I will be there, with the SS
Bob,
That is a beauty for sure. I suspect I'll see that one as the "main bow" at Wild Things next year. True?
Joe
Keith, That grip looks sweet kinda looks like a ACS rc grip if that's the case sign me up I love the RC grip but I like recurves better than longbows. Always wanted a rc riser with recurve limbs that's my dream bow. Wonder if kurt can make it happen? That would look sick with my favorite riser wood bocote. Or I love my bob lee riser but always wanted some finger groves maybe a combination of both.
10-4 on that, Joe! :goldtooth:

You wanna drive down from Altoona, I can let you handle this one...
I'm a recurve grip guy myself...but love the performance/looks/quiet of a longbow limb.
Before he had the SS refined, I opted for this Longbow with some special work done by Kirk to fit my shooting style by altering the grip some:

I will have to take you up on that offer but it will have to be after the 1st of the year sometime. I love the bocote. I wish I had a rc riser than I could send it to kirk to copy and make me a recurve version of yours. I always loved the way the finger grooves felt and the palm swell but I want it in a short package with recurve limbs would make a sweet treestand bow. What do u say kirk what's your opinion on my idea thanks brad

I love the way these bows shoot so flat. My Sas is my go to bow. I shoot everything from 20 yd indoor to field. A little hunting in between.
These baby's shoot flat to 50 yards easy. No Bragg but my all time wow shot was 96 yards at the San Francisco Archers field hunter coarse. The arrow hit just left of the bulls eye by 6 inches. I attribute the bow for that one I'm not that good!
I'm seeing a 64 " flat liner in the future. Maybe next year?
bab's, Kirk fit me to a t on the grip, we worked together at Baltimore on what I wanted and Kirk did the rest. He is the man.
Babs,
Kirk emailed me asking if I can get on TG. He's had trouble with several browsers all day. I sent him your note (copy/paste) so he knows your asking. Hang tight. You don't have a direct email so he'll have to wait to reply till he can get on Gang.
Denis,
That is pretty awesome, but it doesn't surprise me.
I'm still learning that bow... old age might over take me till I learn all that it can do!

Hey Brad, With Keith and Dave both i was fortunate enough to get to shoot with them at the Baltimore Classic. I try to make that shoot every year even though i have to fly coast to coast to do it. (Says something about that archery club, eh?)
Anyway, i do a lot of these custom grips just using photographs and pictures of my customers shooting. i also ask for a hand tracing. I do have a custom grip charge, but if i don't nail it dead on for you, i'll do some adjustment to get her right. I've had very few come back to me, but it's not a problem if they do.
So the bottom line is i can certainly match any grip shape you like and put some recurve limbs on it for you. For more info send me an email bro.... Kirk
Speaking of custom grips and finger grooves... Did you get that worked out Keith? or would you still like those edges knocked off those top finger groves a bit?
