Sometimes it's not about how big, sometimes there's a deeper reason to release an arrow....today was one of those days...

A very big CONGRATULATIONS. Great pictures too. That's just great.
Nice Curt
For some reason, I really like that pic where the deer's face is foremost. Well done, eye catching.
Good job, and congrat's.

Curt great video although My hearing and the low sound kept me from understanding the meaning of the title "10 years and 2 days".
Care to expound some more?
Nice follow up shot. He should be tender!!

Local or down a county or two? Just watched the vid on the tab. Sweet.
Nice job! Thanks for taking us with.
Hard to believe it's been that long already. The best part is that you're here to tell the story!
Truely awesome, on many levels...
Congrats brother, and many more!
Congrats!
Nice video and pics.
Its cool to see you still get excited. Glad your still hunting with us.

Great video and really nice follow up shot. That's the hard one after the first shot and your adrenaline is pumping.
Thank God you are still with us hunting. A lot of good has come because of that shot 10 years ago though. Great friends have been made, and alot of donations to St Jude's.
Congratulations Curt!
Impressive in some different ways.
One is how you maintained your composure for such a quick second shot, next it was easy to tell that you were excited and pleased by your words and the expression seen on your face and in your eyes, yet at no time did you raise your voice so as to disturb the woods around you....that's cool!
Thank you for sharing!!
God bless,Mudd
Congrats Curt!!
Congrats! I know the feeling of going a long time without scoring.
Great video
Now that's awesome! Impressed by hunters who quickly get the 2nd shot done when needed.....nothing worse than a delayed finishing shot! Always surprised by how low the spine actually is down from the top of the back.
Congrats Curt...need to hear more about the 10 years 2 days stuff?
Congratulations Curt!! Thanks for the video. Nice Winona camo hat!
Well done bud!
Great job Curt, congrats.
David
Nice buck Curt. Awesome follow up shot!!

Congratulations! Still out there and still shooting straight, give thanks
Awesome, congrats again!
Really nice quick follow up shot. That is a tough one to make.
Tim

I remember reading your thread about getting shot, and the pictures. That spike is my favorite eating size.
I wonder whatever happened with that kid who shot you. How did he heal from his stupid mistake? Wouldn't it be great to see you two bowhunting? Or maybe my armchair musings are off the mark.
I worked 11 hours yesterday and got paid for 7.5. You had a much better day than I, and it did me good to see it. I love the geese in the background. They remind me of tha sacred rhythms of the seasons. Thanks for posting, and for being here to post it.
Killdeer :campfire:
Any deer taken with a stickbow is a trophy, congrats on your spike!
Way to get it done. Loving the looks of that bow.
Sweet!!!
Good stuff Curt. Great shooting. Cool video!
Great video. Awesome shot and quick follow up shot! Glad your able to celebrate 10 years and 2 days!
good shooting, don't know what happened to you ten years ago, but glad your still with us and taking great video's
G-D bless.
Sorry about the confusion....the "ten years and two days" refers to what happened to me...here's a few threads from the "classics" forum...

Yes, I was "unlucky" to get shot...but since day one I've said I was the luckiest guy in the world that day because I made it through it, and have had so many wonderful experience with family and friends since then!
This is the result of the follow-up shot...

wow, time sure does fly. Glad you're still with us Curt and congrads on the deer
Read a few of the threads from a decade ago! Crazy story! Cade hasn't changed much other than a hundred pounds and 4 feet.... but boy was he a cute kid! You're a blessed guy Curt!
Wow Curt I had actually forgotten even though I read those threads before! Great shot and what a way to remember such a tough day in your life. Gonna be some fine eatin' brudda
Whoa, Curt! I never knew that story. Yo are rightabout being lucky. I am glad it worked out and you are back good a s new!
Congrats again on your spike!
Bisch
Congrats on a great day in the field and for sharing it with us along with your very personal story!
Congrats on the deer. Sorry to hear about the accident, what happened to the kid that shot you?
I can see how things like that can happen. Son came home early from hunting and told me two guys were trespassing with shotguns on our lot. He was afraid to get out of the tree, didn't want to be mistaken for a deer. No shotgun season was open, just poachers. Not even safe on a small acreage on private property.
Curt great job. A lot has changed and Cade has really come into his own in the last ten years. I will never forget the first time we hunted after you were shot. I still don't think your wound was healed but you needed to be in the woods again. I'm sure somewhere there is a picture but mine was lost in a computer crash. Here's to another fourty years of memories.....
Nice hunt and impressive accident ten years ago.
Congrats, thanks for sharing your Hunt!
Very nice Curt congratulations, you certainly can shoot there is no doubt about that. Very thankful that 10 years later you are still at it, God Bless.
:) :) :) :)Til we meet someday, be well and carry on, love all your stories and pics through the years Joe :) :) :)
Some days are better than others...in this case, WAY better!
Great buck...and thanks for sharing your day of reflection. Bravery is always rewarded.

Curt never knew about the accident WOW! Glad to see your back out there and getting it done. I really admired how quick you made that follow up shot. I hate watchin an animal thrash as the camera pans back to some Bozo freaking out while the deer suffers. Very ethical and clean kill.
Curt, very sorry to make you relive it, I didn't know. I give you a lot of credit going back into the woods for hunting, and very happy you have been able to handle well, especially for your son.
A long time ago a friend told me a story about a day he was hunting, it was up in Rosco N.Y. It was bow season and he was standing next to a tree, maybe a foot or less from it. He said he heard a noise like someone was throwing a stone through the trees as it hit various branches and leaves, and then a thud sound. He heard it 3 or 4 times then realized the thud sound was bullets hitting the tree he was standing next to, he said he never heard the shots. Needles to say he got out of there quick.
Good for you, and keep up the great posts you put up here.
Great follow up shot Curt! Never thought about a spine shot before, I am sure it will happen to me someday. Getting off a second fast and accurate shot will be something I will keep in mind and practice at. Thanks for sharing that video. Congrats on a nice size spike!!
You know you got that second shot off in 8 sec. Nice!!!!!!
Well done on both the deer and video. I always enjoy watching your hunts.
Great job!!
Wow, Curt just read the posts from the past 10 years :scared:
God is good, nothing but good!
The old saying of count your blessing comes to mind and we all should everyday.
The bible says the Lords mercies are renewed every morning.
Congratulations Curt, both on the deer and on being able to put your experience behind you and continue doing what you love so much. That took some courage!
Very nice - thanks for sharing! We can all learn from your story in many ways.
Congrats!
Curt..... :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:
Congrats bud and first time I have read the threads about your experience. WOW !
Thanks for sharing your hunt and your accidental shooting incident. Scary thought, being shot at!!
 :notworthy:
