After many months I'm finally back on my favorite hunting website. As some of you know I lost both of my parents this year; my Mom died January 22 of a brain injury after a fall and my Dad finally lost his battle with dementia June 22, exactly 5 months after Mom passed away. I also lost my good friend and hunting buddy Jerry Simmons to cancer this year. Jerry was a good man and great woodsman. Needless to say my family and I have been numb for many months. During this time I have been fortunate as several of my photographs have been published by some great archery magazines. Hopefully they inspire some of you to dream about your next adventure with a simple bow in hand ... life is short!

Welcome home Gary!
I am so sorry for your losses.
Abba Father, please wrap your loving, caring, healing arms around Gary and his loved ones giving them your peace. Please allow them to feel your love in a very supernatural way so they will know it only comes from you. I ask in your son's name. Amen!
God bless,Mudd
Welcome back, I too am looking forward to more of your photos.
Welcome back fellow Murray State grad! I have been enjoying the cover work and sharing them with my family. Sorry you have had such a rough year. Here's to feeling better and moving forward. God bless!
Thanks guys. I've had a pretty good support group. The Holy Spirit comforts and enlightens me every day, plus I have a terrific wife, children, and grandkids. I managed to hunt some this fall, learned a new farm, and took a nice young buck. I keep recalling that line from Primal Dreams, "Some feel that they're closer to God in The Cathedral of the Pines."
I camped at Land Between the Lakes the first week of November Mike. In remembrance of Dad I pitched my tent in the area where he and I cut our teeth on whitetails in the mid-70s, the Crooked Creek bottoms out Jenny Ridge road just north of Golden Pond. An image I took near camp will be on the cover of the next Trad Archers World.
To better times Gary. Settle in and smile always love your images.
Thank you Mudd. Stirring words.
Welcome back Gary.
Welcome back, always enjoy your threads!

Welcome back Gary, may the Good Lord bless and comfort you.
Welcome Home Gary. Thanks for reminding us of what's important. We'll all take an extra minute to give thanks for all we have. Perspective is a powerful gift.
God Bless you Gary, I lost my Dad this fall to Alzheimer's.
Enjoy your photo`s always and I am very sorry for your rough times this year. Prayers sent from my home for all those in need. God bless,RC.

Welcome back, my KY brother. Sorry for your losses.
I, too, can relate to your suffering. I lost my Mom to brain cancer in September 2009 and then my Dad passed away just 7 weeks later from a heart attack. She was just 65 years young and my Dad was only 66.
I miss seeing your excellent photos on here. Can't wait to see the next.....
I'm sorry for your loss. I know it hurts.
I am glad you could be back here with us though. I miss the beauty of your photos.
Your photo`s make a person want to climb into the picture and become a part of them.
For a moment, we can travel in time to places we love and experience those feelings we all love so much, through what you are able to capture and share.
As a parent, imagine the joy you would feel knowing your child can do that for people... ;)
Welcome back my friend.
Gary, welcome back, I have been missing your pictures and threads.
I am sorry for your losses.
Gary, first of all, welcome back. Campfire is just warming up. Second, a very wise person told me something one time about the loss of a friend or loved one.
You must give yourself four seasons. Things will look better after four seasons. That was my loving wife. She was quite right. Sorry for your losses.
Tim
Gary,
Very sorry for your losses. I can not even imagine how hard a situation like that could be.
I was just talking about your cover pics the other day. On tradbow forum I was posting about how much I loved your tbm cover shot. Then I saw the pbs cover and saw that it was you again and was telling my buddy how great of a photog you were. Congrats on the amazing photos and for taking the time to set up and make the shots so that we can enjoy them.
Good to see you back on TG, Gary!

Glad you are back Gary. Sorry for your losses, I am going through the same thing right now with my Dad. Going to the nursing home after while to spend several hours with him.
Tom
Good to have you back, Gary. I always enjoy your magazine covers. Your photographs are always so peaceful. And as I told you before that story about one of the last times you got out with your dad was very moving. You have some wonderful memories to cherish. Hoping to share the last Pig Gig camp with you again. Take care
Thank you for sharing with us.
Prayers of strength and fortitude.
I'll be back at the Lambshead next time Colburn. I guess that will be the last Pig Gig hosted by Gene and Barry. Will you be there?
I may need to post that photo of the magazines again. The site I linked them too is temporarily down.
Welcome back Gary

Welcome Back Gary! Love the "Flying Snaro" Cover for T.B.hunter this month!! Awsome! Keep Your Chin Up Brother, Life IS Good!! I Am Also So Sorry for Your Losses, God Rest Them All.
I'll be there, Gary. This will be my fifth Gig. We'll be a little later this year. I have a feeling this will be a good hunt. And we know it will be fun. Be safe driving down.
Glad to see your back Gary. You are a generous person who helped me out years ago with some equipment for a beginner and I will always remember that. I wish you the best and hope you have a great year!
