A group of friends and I bought a hunt for hogs and javies during the St Jude auction. We decided to go as a group and use the St Jude hunt to take along some one else. The guy we picked is a active duty National Guard soldier from Jacksonville Fl. Due to operational issues he is unable to go. So we thought we`d throw it open to the fine folks here on Trad Gang to find a replacement.
So here`s the deal. We are offering a 6 day hunt in west Texas. We will feed you, pick you up at Dallas, Atlanta or Nashville airports. Basically all you`ll need is ya bow, some clothes, a license and a cooler. The accomodation is in bunkhouses and there is hot water. The dates are Jan 25th `til Feb 1 2014.
One other kicker. You can not nominate yourself. Nominate some one else and tell us why. The reasons we like will go in a hat and we`ll pull from that. The nominations will be accepted `til Wed 27th Nov 2013 at 6pm.
Any questions message Rob Tattoo or myself.
There ya go. Have at it.
I nominate Ray Hammond. Ray's been through some tough times this year with his job, as well as lost his hunting property in SC.
Well I nominate Bob Corbitt- so there!
Bob is a class act, has a monstrous heart, and lives the 'Pay it forward' lifestyle. I'm very lucky to have friends like Bob!
Don't pick me- select Bob
Can I nominate one other person? Mike Mitchum - aka squirrel bait!
Mike is the kind of guy who'd give you anything he had if you needed it. More important- he is the kind of guy who puts family ahead of himself always and therefore hasn't been too many places outside the immediate Southeast so he would really enjoy a trip to "a whole other country"!!!
Amen on Squirrelie (err, I mean Mike ;) )!
I 'll throw out there Robert Carter "RC". RC is one of the best hunters out there and has given St Jude hunts in Georgia for a number of years and offered up ol T-Bone, his personal bow this past auction. RC is just good human, humble and would give you the shirt off his back.
Nice gesture..... :clapper:
TTT.
Thought folks would've been all over the chance of a FREE HUNT.
I'll nominate Ed Guthro (bruinman) great guy, well deserving of a good hunt.
I'd like to nominate any TradGanger that's still looking for their first trad kill and has never been to TX.
I'd like to nominate T.W. (Wannabe1) He is a real nice guy and is looking for his first trad kill!
I nominate Izzy. Street cops need a break from that routine (ask me how I know), and I don't think he has been on a javelina hunt.
Izzy ... x2
I'd like to nominate Americanhunter7.
He serves us locally in his local police department plus he is just a pleasure to be around.
He gives more than he gets.
God bless,Mudd
I'd like to nominate Bernie Dunn AKA ber643. He always has a bunch of stuff in the St Jude auctions and has wrangled countless dinosaurs for the kids at various shoots.
I believe Izzy should go as well.
I nominate someone who can cook and clean for the whole time
Dude, I'm already going......
are you going to wear..............."the outfit"?
I reckon I just may. ;)
I got $38 in one dollar bills, just for you.

ABSOLUTELY!!!
How many can i nominate.
Bernie Dunn
Doug Campbell
I'm with Terry!
I'd like to put Ryan Steadman's name in the hat. Ryan is a fantastic guy that has done so much for so many. I bet there are dozens on here that have felt the generosity of Ryan. Ryan has recently gone through some tough times with a cancer scare in his lovely wife Julie. Additionally, Ryan just won't have money to do much traveling or hunting as he will be supporting a pretty hefty monthly bill for sending his son on a two year Church mission to Finland. You won't find a better guy than Ryan!

TTT tomorrow's the closing day for nominations!
I just got a call from friend, Don Batten, and he informed me about this thread. I was flabberghasted and want to personally thank those who nominated me. It is such an honor, and others can only imagine how good it makes me feel to even be considered.
However, I must ask that those doing the picking NOT consider me (no matter how much I would love to have the honor, and to go) as I just don't think I could make it. I'm not even sure (after a couple close-by hunts this year) that I could bear up under it. Thank you so much for thinking of me though. Perhaps when I gain more of my strength back, some time in the future, if something came up, I'd be able to make it, but not yet. Thanks again and bless you all, and this fine idea/offer.
Who would I nominate? Most any trad gang member I've "jawed" with on here over the years. What a fine bunch to choose from, how could you go wrong with any choice. I must admit I like the idea put forth by two or three nominators of any good, friendly chap that is still looking for his/her first trad kill. That would be a real kick for all involved, IMO.
Good luck to all involved, and thanks again - it's made my day. :archer:
Just to clarify some things. Rob took Terry`s nomination, of someone yet to kill a big game animal, and started a new thread. I didn`t want anyone to think that we were ignoring this. I believe Rob picked someone last week. But thanks for the interest.
LOL - Thanks, Chris.
