This is my niece and nephew, Destiny (4) and Dacion (5). I posted about them some time ago and their situation has improved drastically. We have been working on the mechanics of shooting, for them that means holding the bow, putting the arrow on the string, and pulling/releasing the string. Tonight we had a breakthrough and they were both able to get the arrows to stick in the box at five yards completely on their own! I am very proud of them and they seem to genuinely love shooting their bows. Many high fives and hugs were exchanged today especially after a friendly "long distance" shooting contest between brother and sister. I think it is as good a stress reliever for them as it is for me. I would have gotten more photos but we were having too much fun so I snapped this one as we wrapped up today's lesson. I hope to get some better photos soon of them actually shooting now that they are getting the hang of it. The kids bows and arrows were a gift from to fine, fellow trad archers and are a huge blessing.
