Hey guys, I've got some people interested in some BigJim Broadheads and for me to make an order, I will have to pre sell 75 heads. I have already taken an order for 18 from one person so we are well under way.

The heads in question are 300g 3 blade screw in's  made by VPA. The are 1 1/2" cutting diameter.

I will also consider the 250 g glue on heads if I get the same 75 pre ordered heads.

Prices haven't changed. If you don't remember how much they were, you will have to pm me because I can't list it here. That is the best way to get on the list too.

I will take 9 of the 300 gr Screw-ins.  Assume they are 3/pack....So 3 packs.

For anyone who hasn't seen these, they look like pure death on the end of an arrow!

Could probably put them on an atlatl ! I have taken many game animals with them and it lets the wind out of them and starts a great blood trail in a hurry.

I already have 18 Jim, but if it comes down to the end and you need to sell some to get to the 75 to make the order give a shout...

If you like the 160 Snuffer, these are similar only much better quality!  Great heads!

i pre odered 6 packs of 3 heads in 300 gr.
i have killed something like 40 big games with the BJ 300 gr BH and trad bow since i discovered them from 2000+# African Eland to light roe deer and firmly think those heads are the best overall heads rgarding to durability, cuting diameter /lesioning power, easy sharpenning

cacciatore, the 250's are only in the glue on and although there is some interest, it is still low for those.
Are you looking for the screw in? (300g) or
are you looking for the glue in ? (250g).

I wish I knew of they would fly well from my bow! According to spine calculators I "should" be able to make it work.

Can anybody put up some pictures of the damage these heads do?

Sorry,I figured they were available in 250 screw ins.

I wish they were some screw in's in 250 as it would open this up to more people, but that's another can of worms.

and if you get close on the 250's I would also get in on those.

i will take 2 packs of the screw on's- but if ever you make the glue on's, i will also take an additional 2 packs of them.

you guys think they will perform well out of a 50# bow on canadian moose. the question is not so much the broadheads- but with the increased cutting area, will the 50# be sufficient?- i realise there are a lot of other variables at play here- just trying to get an idea.

I'd love some 250 screw ons. At 300 I'd need to go up in spine I think though. Maybe an offseason project.

the price on these are $60 for a three pack in either screw in or glue on.

I have quite a few screw in pre orders and now is the time to get on the list as I will order a few more than what is ordered, but it may be a while before we could get another group of people together big enough to do this again. These heads are tough and if you don't loose them, it is unlikely you will need to replace them.

We are half the way to having enough orders for the glue on heads.

PM sent Jim, in for 3 packs of the 300gr screw ins.

Babs, recent posts of videos here on sharpening makes it easy, even for a sharpening challenged dude like me, LIGHT pressure was the key for me.

babs, it is quite easy. lay the BH down flat on a stone or turn two blades up flat and stroke with a file (my preferred method).
When using a file, it helps to fill the file with chalk board chalk first so the filings don't embed in the grooves of the file impeding progress.

If they are quite dull when I start, I make 5-7 passes with moderate or more pressure before rotating sharpening one side of two different blades each time. I continue until I have fully rotated the head thus hitting each side of each blade.
Now do it again using one less pass each rotation with decreased pressure until you get to one pass per rotation. At this time you should be using so little pressure that you are barely touching the head. I will continue to rotate until I'm satisfied with sharpness.
If desired, you can further polish the edge with a fine stone and then stropping but I haven't found this to be necessary.

We are getting real close.
Anyone wanting glue on heads should send me a PM as it has stalled but very close to the needed numbers.

For the screw ins, if you want them, nows the time. I will make the order and I will order a few extra, but it will probably be a while before this happens again and if i don't order enough, you may get left out.
