My new Kempf Trophy Hunter Longbow is serving me well this season. It's name is Sugar Mama cuz my wife had it made for me and I call her my Sugar Mama ;) I arrowed this mature 10pt and he went less than 50yds. I shoot CE Heritage and Woodmen Heads or VPA 3 blades. Great blood trails.

The following hunt something crazy weird happened. I shot 2 hogs early in the morning. Then this nice old doe about 30 min later. When I trailed the doe and found her. I looked up and saw something black. I thought, what are the odds it was one of my hogs? I walked over and this is what I saw. Doe pic first

I had a hard time believing what I was seeing. I even had to pick the hog up to make sure it was fresh. Sure enough it was limp. I believe the the other hogs ate him! I heard what sounded like a big hog in the brush and it sounded like it was chasing the wounded hog I shot. It's crazy. Rib bones eaten and all of the internal organs in less than 1.5 hrs. Glad my doe was untouched.
That's insane!
NICE WORK!!
Nice Congrats! :scared:
Nice shooting - to bad about the hog.
Nice shooting, wow!
Very nice shooting Troy. Nice way to break in a new bow.
Almost connected with my Kempf Little Grizzly this morning.Tall mature 8 came in looking for love. 10 yards on the ground but I couldn't seal the deal.
Congrats
Mo
Glad they got the pig and not the doe! Deer are a step up the ladder to me and if one is going to get ate by the vaemints, I'd just as soon it be the pig!
Congrats! Sounds like a great hunt!
Bisch
Troy, you are on it. Great shooting
Man that a great day.
:readit:
Sweet....... congrats !!!
:scared: In college i lived on a farm in Iowa. One morning I look into to paddock and there lay a pigs head. I guess pigs like pork-- too.
Nice deer...
Joe
Looks like your new bow is working out for you. Nice shot on a good buck.
Congrats on the critters!!! Thanks for sharing the story as well!
Thanks guys! Thanks Joe Skipp for turning me on to the Trophy Hunter Longbow.
Nice buck, I'd say you got that bow broke in right!
Congrats!
Nice deer, are there any coyotes in your area?
Good hunt and good shooting !
EVERYBODY likes pork! :biglaugh: What an awesome day! Congrats on all of that meat in the freezer and a great set of antlers for the wall, too!
Congrats!
Troy, looks like you're having a great season! Congratulations
Joe
Congrats. Crazy the hogs are like that!
Well at least they gutted the hog for ya,still some good meat left if ya ask me. :bigsmyl:
Good shooting ,, Make sure and send Jack some pics he loves to get them ,, I bet if you try a little Grizzly bow you would like it as well , Jack has been building the Trophy Hunter bow for a long time ,,
Danny, the hams and backs traps where in perfect condition.
Gordon, yes, I email a pic every time I'm fortunate enough to harvest something. My hunting partner has the Little Grizzly and I had one too but I really like this 2pc trophy hunter. It's so smooth at 58" and very quiet. I've owned or shot, the raven, kwyk styk, stealth, little grizz, and the trophy hunter. I like them all:)
Great job!!! That's weird about the hog (we don't have em here so I don't know much about their behavior) but I did see a squirrel eating the breast out of a dove once so I guess the odd things happen.
I too enjoy heritage arrows and VPA heads
congrats on your harvests! pretty crazy, but yes...a pig will eat literally anything. good shootin!
It looks like that bow is working pretty well for you. It looks like you've had a great season!
