OK guys, 2.0 version now available.
Species: Whitetail
This poll will be to gather data about Traditional Archery whitetail deer tags filled from the listed platforms in the poll. You may vote for one based on the most tags filled USING TRADITIONAL GEAR from a given platform.
I will compile the data, post the results, then I will open the next poll. This will be a multifaceted compilation for a statistics project my son is doing. It should be interesting when it all comes together. Hopefully I will also be able to break it down by zones.
If you have suggestions for future polls I will post, please add them to the comments on this thread and I will try to incorporate them.
Tim
ps: I did not mean to type ground "bling", it was late! I don't think Snoop Dog Trads!
Would also be interesting to do a poll on the type of arrow (carbon, wood, aluminum, fiberglass) also.
I think pop-up or natural blind would be a good option.
Rob,
I figured ground blind included pop up as well as naturally occuring.
It varies a lot with the species of game I am hunting.
Yeah, that's my bad. I edited it for Whitetail, which was my aim. Sorry!
Going to be a tough one to call - I have had success still hunting, from ground blinds, and from "permanent" tree stands. The latter has made me the most meat. But the first the best memories.
Up for the weekend
I use homemade portable treestands. Not an option on the poll?????? :banghead:
Wiley, if it locks onto the tree without an attached ladder, then use the loc on/climber option.
Mother Earth.
All three so far this year via spot and stalk. The past few years most from the ground either spot and stalk or natural blinds or some combination thereof. I still stand hunt a bit but much less than before.
I love me some tree stands...Death from above!!
BAB
"Ground bling?" Is that hiding behind a pile of gold?
How about ground level seat tied to the tree but out in the open with no blind? Like the Dean Torges tree seat? I use one of those frequently (and again still hunt mid-day).
So many options. Good to have a lot of arrow choices in the quiver, so to speak. You should be flexible and adaptable to conditions and game.
I picked the lock on, but also use ladders and natural ground blinds. I'm not good enuf to still hunt whitetails in the woods I hunt and don't like the tent blinds. I'm becoming more fond of ladders, just wish they were a little easier to move around and set up by myself.
