Title: Question about fabric snakeskins from 3R
Post by: EASTERNARCHER on November 13, 2013, 09:29:00 AM
I've never done this before, but I'm building a bamboo backed bow for my niece's new hubby for Christmas, and I've had these copperhead look-alikes laying around for a couple of years now.
Wondering if anybody has used them or can give some pointers on installing them?
Hows thwe durability under a few coats of Tru-oil???
I've run several searches, but I'm not finding much...Appreciate your comments.

rudder bows use to have a how to.
Basically coat bow with titebond 2 and lay skin down.
Work out all wrinkles and or air, then apply coats of TB over cloth, working into the cloth.
after it dries trim edges with super sharp blade (razor)
then apply coats of True Oil
As far as durabilty I cannot comment, but Im guessing if well installed and sealed from moisture they should be fine.
