Title: What's the Best Way to REHAB a Glove??
Post by: Nala on November 09, 2013, 10:10:00 PM
Hey all,

My favorite shooting glove happened to end up in the mouth of our puppy.  He had a wonderful time gnawing on it for a bit until I caught him.

Nothing major is wrong, but there was a lot of tiny holes and scratches all over the finger stalls.  To get rid of those I took some light sandpaper and sanded them down.  Everything is pretty smooth now in most places, but it is all splotchy where it was chewed and sanded.  I need to know what to do or put on it to get it back to the same color as the rest of the glove.  I put some olive oil on it just to coat it and protect it a bit and that's mostly wore off now.  I need some ideas as to what I can or should do to it now to make it last.

Thanks for the help.

OBENAUF'S heavy duty leather preservative

that's what I use on all my leather.
made in Idaho and works really great.I purchased mine at sportsmans Warehouse ,it conditions well and keeps from scuffing and waterproofs.

Snow seal is great leather preservative, and water proof's it too..... or if you are a bear hunter... use bacon grease.   :saywhat:
